Connecting A sony receiver to A vizio TV.

Hi, brand new here and looking for help with this problem. i bought a optical digital cable and a component video cord, along with an HDMI that i already had. i set it up the way the sony manual had advised. but the tv doesn't seem to recognize the receiver. i appreciate any and all help.

Need more information. First, what are you trying to accomplish? What equipment do you have and how are the pieces connected?

In general, if you have an HDMI output jack on the receiver and an HDMI input jack on the TV, you should connect them to each other with an HDMI cable.

ALL source devices should connect to the HDMI or composite-video inputs of the RECEIVER ONLY (or analog inputs for a CD player that is audio-only).

There should be NOTHING but that one HDMI cable connected to the TV monitor.

Make sure that you are selecting the correct input jack from your TV menu!

If you make those connections and still have a question, please give the EXACT MODEL NUMBER of the receiver and TV.
