Any real compentition to Sonos? Cheaper? NAS?

Is there a networking receiver that will play from a computer or NAS that can be controlled my an iPod or phone? (I'm looking for a receiver)

Other wise besides the now gone and expensive to obtain squeezebox what other things are there? I like Sonos for its simplicity but it can only play 16bit and for various reasons I don't like the play:3 or play:5 so all I would use are the $350 Sonos connect and its $700 for 2 of them.

Pivos XIOS DS, use XBMC-Linux firmware on it, however the XIOS only has a HDMI output on it so your sound system needs a HDMI input or look into some sort of HDMI audio splitter cable to extract the audio to phono or SPDIF.

Then in XBMC once you've scanned in your network sources for media use any of the dozens of XBMC remotes available, the official iOS one is free.
