Seeking Pioneer BDP-52FD observations

I am considering streamlining my disc players by purchasing a discontinued Pioneer Elite BDP-52FD Blu-ray/SACD/DVD-Audio player on the 'Bay for $200 or so.

I would like to simplify the rack and free up an HDMI jack for a Mac Mini.

I just can'y bite off the $500 admission on an Oppo. Has anyone over here in surround music group experienced one of these. I am currently using an inexpensive Sony BDP-S380 for Blu-ray/SACD and a Pioneer DV-48AV universal DVD player for DVD-Audio. Both players are connected to my Pioneer SC-25 receiver via HDMI.

Thanks in advance for any advice, Michael

All the SACD and general feedback, including mine on the 140 are in the two Pioneer player threads. For SACD via digital/HDMI the Pioneer is certainly no worse and in fact more capable than Oppo for less money. The 62FD(440) is a 140 with DVD-A added. If you can wait, this year's 62FD is more like last year's 53FD but at 52FD's price. Or see if a 53FD comes up at a good price.
