Sony Bravia kdl-40l4000 update software

I have a Sony Bravia kdl-40l4000 with Software version 2.26.31 and just now I can see only format mp2 and I don`t know how to update the software because my tv don`t do this process automatically.Please can you help me with instruction how to update the software in manner that I can see mp4 format?
