Panasonic ST50 Line Bleed

In my brief ownership of 2 months of the st50, I have noticed line bleed more times than I did in my 2 year ownership of my Panasonic G25. As a a matter of fact I dont even remember one time where I noticed line bleed, on my older plasma, on normal content whereas the same cant be said for the st50. I am not sure if something is wrong with my st50 or if the g25 was just exceptionally well at not exhibiting line bleed.

One instance where the line bleed struck out to me the most was on episode 17 of season 7 on the tv show The Office. At around the 18 minute mark you see Steve Carrel sitting in front of window blinds and you can see the blinds bleeding through his face causing a shadow like line going across his face. It seems more pronounced as his face moves. I have noticed if the object causing line bleed happens to be moving, line bleed is more pronounced. I have seen line bleed on various different kinds of material on commercials from bright text on a solid color background to peoples eyes and lips causing line bleed onto a solid dark background. I dont know if all this is normal for this years panasonic's but i know for sure my 2010 panasonic did not exhibit line bleed to this extent at all.

Is anyone else with this years panasonic plasmas also having this problem?

I am seeing exactly what you have described. I have the Panasonic TC-P50U50, I am comparing it to an older Panasonic C1 and an old Samsung PN50A450. I was a bit surprised as these older bottom of the barrel plasmas don't exhibit this at all.

Both the V20 and UT50 have terrible line bleed. It's one thing having it show up in the green disclaimer screen etc, but I keep seeing it all over peoples faces. And venetian blinds? Forgetaboutit.

Im not sure if it has anything to do with the increased brightness and contrast levels on this years panels making line bleed more visible.

How many hours on your panel? What picture mode / settings?

And have you trying Adjusting ("Calibrating") the panel with the AVS HD709 and/or one of the commercial disks?

When new, our 60ST50 did not exhibit any more line bleed than our older two Pan plasmas do - and it is currently at least as good as those two panels, of not better.

To be fair, most of our "serious" viewing is done in a fairly dim environment, and the panel is adjusted accordingly - which probably could make a difference....

You must have forgotten, because I currently own a pn50A450 and I get lots of line bleed and I have owned this set for 5 years.

How often do you see it in actual content?

I had an ST50 and i only really saw it on young Carl's glasses in the opening sequence of UP. The normal offenders (Green motion picture warning message) and the Pixar lamp jumping sequence produced 0 line bleed on my St50.

This isnt an issue on the exchanged Samsung E6500, but overall i preferred the ST50.

65ST50 here. I've only ever seen it on the green motion picture rating screen. And I'm not sure I'd have ever noticed that had I not been looking for it based on people on here talking about it. Not that it wasn't noticeable, that's just not a screen I've ever paid much attention.
