Anthony Edwards has always been a fav of mine since ER. Glad he has resurfaced in this new show. Starts in February. Looks promising.

This has "mini-series" written all over it, but may turn out to be a hit...I'm more hopeful for the Kevin Bacon project.

I'll repeat here what I said in HOTP..

I saw the screener for this back in June and I can't wait for the show. It has a real "Da Vinci Code" feel to it and I can see the small cast gelling... think "NCIS" meets "National Treasure." At least that's my hope. The first 20 minutes of the pilot just dragged.. I could see many people giving up early. Hope that doesn't happen as it's a good show.

I agree, the first episode looks good. Waiting for the series of 13 episodes to get started on Thursday.

I really enjoyed it. It's a combination of The Da Vinci Code, National Treasure and Indiana Jones.

Looking forward to this one. Love that it's a limited run "midiseries" with a finite conclusion; something for which I've lobbied for years (pay attention to CBS's 'Under the Dome' this summer as well). Looks like the American networks are finally going to start experimenting with the British model. 'Bout time.

And throw in "The Boys From Brazil" as well. I though that the show was very well done and the "past life" bit at the end was really intriguing. Hopefully the writers can keep this one going for awhile.

That's exactly what I thought. Very enjoyable show.

I thought it had a few problems in the first half but found it's stride in the second. I'll see how the second episode works next week.
Nicely done, I'm guessing 12 episodes, one for each clock and for the "12" relevance
post #16 of 159
Meh. I'll check out a few more. If not for the end, I would really have disliked it. But, it finished strong, so ill keep watching for a bit. The dialogue seemed quite pedestrian to me, but I'm hoping for improvement...

Interesting.

Wonder what they were hiding under the cathedral?

We've got 12 more episodes to find out. wink.gif

While we didn't totally dislike it, the pilot will be our only episode. Both my wife and I had a very hard time believing the male lead could get into all the situations he did, including flying to the Canadian tundra on a seconds notice. It was also hard to believe the bad guy decided not to wait a day but drive his off road vehicle many miles over the frozen tundra to the sub.....
I could go on and on but if everyone else is happy with the pilot I won't be a Debbie Downer, enjoy smile.gif
Oh I also didn't like the fact that all the O's(not zeros but Os) have a hash line through them, I thought the hash mark through a O was the European way to signify a Zero but they are using it in the letter O rolleyes.gif

Dear Debbie Downer,

It's TV for Pete sake. smile.gif

Point is that broadcast TV is more and more competing against better shows on streaming services and some on cable networks. Broadcast series need to be much better or there will be no eyes watching anymore.

Watched it, enjoyed it, and will hang in for the show's run. It's not the best example of the genre, but it appears competently made and it's got all the necessary ingredients: a super-secret Illuminati kind of group, Nazis (what's a story like this without Nazis?), gadgets, exotic locations, secrets, double crosses and plot twists. What's not to like? smile.gif

Although I thought it was too melodramatic at times, I'm going to stick with it. It isn't a crime drama, so that gets points in my book.

Where I had the biggest "suspension of disbelief" was when they landed in the tundra a couple of hundred yards from the sub and yet some how they didn't see it until they used a set of binoculars!! Why didn't they see it from the plane, where they were almost directly overhead?! I actually broke out laughing at that point. But JimP is right, "It's TV for Pete's sake," which means, I suppose, that guys named Pete are surely enjoying it! biggrin.gif

Or a reality show!

I've gotten so good at tuning those out, I forgot the genre even existed, I guess. Oops. wink.gif

Yeah, my threshhold for nitpicks is usually how many I end up with. I let a few things slide, but when it becomes clear the show is going with the "credability be damned, we're making crap up to fit the drama" method, that's when I started complaining a lot - especially when the potential for them to do so much better exists.

I am a little worried to start getting too invested in this show. It apparently had the worst ratings for a scripted show pilot in the history of ABC. I wonder if it can possibly last for its full run. frown.gif

NBC's Do No Harm only lasted two episodes when the 2nd nite's ratings plummeted. Be interesting to see how they hold up for this series.
