I apologize in advance if this has been previously posted - I searched and didn't find anything.
Until MakeMKV v1.7.8 (it's now at 1.7.9) if you wanted to show subtitles from MKV wrapped bluray ripped with MakeMKV you had to use something like MKVMerge to compress the subtitles with zlib.
MakeMKV now has a WDTV profile that will automatically zlib compress subtitles in bluray rips and save you the extra step. You set the profile under Preferences->Advanced
