DVR Expansion

Hi there, I have a Verizon QIP7216 which has a SATA input. I also have an older WD My Book World external drive which has Ethernet and USB 2.0 ports. Is it possible to expand the DVR capacity by connecting the drive using a USB to SATA adaptor? Or do I need to have a drive with a SATA port? Thank you

You need a SATA drive. The USB-to-SATA adapters work in the other direction.. for attaching a SATA drive to a computer without a SATA port. Or you could pull the drive out of the WD enclosure and put it in one that has a sata port.
