Pioneer VSX-1120 Audio Output Selection Question

Thread Starter
I would like to have my 1120 send the selected source audio out both to the speakers connected and to either the HDMI output or the Digital (toslink) output at the same time. I cannot seem to find anything in the manual or in the threads on this to determine if it is even possible to do and if so where to go to make the appropriate settings.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Have you tried the connections and only the hdmi gets the output or ?

Sound currently outputs through the speaker connections. I have the HDMI out going to a TV but there is no sound at the TV. I have also connected to the digital out and am not getting a signal from there either.

I never tried this setup with my Pioneer 919 but looking thru the manual there is a setting to route hdmi to amp or through not both. Looking thru the 1120 manual see the same setting selection and see nothing about using the optical out (which the 919 didn't even have). Why would you want all three at the same time anyways?

I am trying to setup a pair of wireless headphones. Ideally they would connect to the source (an Xbox) but I have an older model that does not have the digital out and there is no adaptor that allows the use of both HDMI and an adaptor at the same time. If I could have the sound going to both the speakers and the TV from the 1120, I could hook the headphones up to the TV. Or, if the 1120 could send to the speakers and the digital out at the same time I could just hook up the headphones there.
