Not sure this is the right spot to post this, so forgive me if it's not.
I'm interested in the possibility of hosting a service on a PC that a Blu-ray player can pick up and run/display.
I recently purchased a Sony BDP-S480 and see that it supports a wide variety of platforms including Java, DLNA, and others. Is it possible to write a PC app such that when the Blu-ray player comes online, it can see this app to show content and navigation.
What I have in mind is a TiVo clone where I can watch my TiVo content from the Blu-ray player (including deleting files). Ideally, it would be an app resident in the player, but a hosted player would work fine.
Can set top Blu-ray players be pointed to web servers or other type of servers to provide content and interactivity? Essentially, I want to use the Blu-ray player as a client computer.
