JBL Venue sub 12 amplifier replacement

My JBL Venue Sub 12 amplifier is fried. How can I replace the amp? I do not want a replacement from JBL as I have heard a lot of bad reviews on JBL subwoofer power amps. The speaker is fine, but is this sub worth fixing or should I just throw it away and get a new one?

Consider replacement plate amps from Parts Express and OAudio. I have two PE plate amps, one of which was used as a replacement on a JBL subwoofer. You will likely need to do some cutting and pasting to get the amp to fit. I pasted 2"x4"s in a rectangular shape to the back of my subwoofer and screwed the PE plate amp into it.

Thanks wwinkler! I think I can make the modifications to the JBL sub. I will call Parts Express and Oaudio for the right amp for it. I am glad to hear I am not the only one with this problem!
