I just want to hear what's going on - what's good for a Samsung PN51E7000?

I love my new TV, but the sound is pretty bad on this model, as many have said before. I just want something I can plug in and not have to mess with too much that also sounds decent. I'd like to spend around $100 to $200 at the absolute max. What are my options? Also, my understanding is that I don't need a receiever with a soundbar. Is this right?

You do not need a receiver. Your TV has ARC so connectivity between your TV and whatever soundbar you choose shouldn't be an issue. Your price range will be the main issue.
