Doesn't work?

Brandon,

I just found this thread (can't believe I missed it) and am in awe at what it did for your sound stage!
We have to talk as I am seriously considering upgrading my POS towers that destroy my high end!
I'm impressed with your results and especially what you wrote about the listening experience.

I'm gonna PM you in hopes of hooking up with you to discuss further soon enough.
thanks for sharing this. (especially telling me in my thread to look this up)

Regards,

oh no, haven't gotten to try yet, I was referencing the old Blackstreet song, in response to your "let us know" comment.

Thanks bud smile.gif Just shoot me a PM anytime, Ill be happy to help smile.gif I still think your high end can be helped some, but those dome tweeters more than likely will run out of gas, way before any of your other speakers.

I caved and got the umm-6 from cross spectrum instead. 5hz calibrated individually for only $10 more sold me. The latest umik-1s have some factory calibration issues in this batch too, so that swayed me.

I should just watch every build you make, because you have some great ideas and choices of equipment to use.

Haha! Thanks!!! I have the AVR getting sent out tomorrow along with the omnimic, but I did manage to update to the new REW and latest OM software so I will be all ready once i have the new unit, and should get the calibrated omnimic around the same time!! Should be a fun few nights of setting up and calibrating!!! I am going to DIE not having an AVR all week though. It will give me enough time to get a bunch of other "rack" stuff done, like cleaning up wiring, moving the router to a better location for the rest of the house, etc.

Those AE woofers are actually my ideal SEOS alignment but until they are on the shelf at AE I aint fuggin with the B.S. to get em.

Or maybe I'll just wait for you to get tired of em and drive up to "take em off your hands".......... :P

Just reread this post and it made me laugh...For those that have been tuned in from the start, I have 3 more TD12x's headed my way so you know what that could mean.... biggrin.gif

I am now 6 ahead of you Nick.

Also for the graphing wizards out there, would one you of you mind running a comparision of my current ported box and what I should expect if I were to plug the ports? The box is 3 cuft dead on, and the port is 13x13.5x2 so I am right at 38hz tuning IIRC. I would love to just see what I might expect before I go through trying it out biggrin.gif

Thanks dudes!

Hey man. Ya, you'd be at f3 of 96Hz plugging the ports. Qtc 0.5 And yeah, your ported tuning is spot on.

I read somewhere a statement that said " BeastAudio's Top Secret Build."
Does that have any substance to it or is it just crazy talk?wink.gif

So let me get this straight, you have the box for your Seos speakers tuned to 38hz with the AE TD12x, right?
And if you plug the ports you would get an f3 at 96hz? Is an f3 the same thing as the lowest part of the frequency responce?
I have looked it up, but the explinations are kind of sketchy and not very clear.

Hmm, not sure who is spreading rumors...But I don't see any other reason why I would be ordering 3 more TD12x's if there wasn't something in the works now would I biggrin.gif

Not lowest point as you will still get response below the "F3" The F3 is just simply the point where response has diminished by 3dB from the rest of the frequency band. When you see a speaker's specs and it shows it's response from say 50hz-20khz the 50hz low point is usually the f3 point. There is also an f6 and an f10, which are 6dB and 10dB down from the response as you would guess.

Umm...we're going to need some plans, sketchups, or specs of the new design STAT Mr. Beast!!! biggrin.gif
post #344 of 355
Hmmm all this talk of sealed F3s and three "extra" woofers makes me wonder if "bass bins" or a 2.5 way variant might be brewing up thar in them NC mountains........

What's this I hear now?

your Noesis hybrid thingy
6 woofers.
One to many for a 5 speaker system & one to few for 7.
2 x LCR = 6 woofers.
Earlier comments allude toward a sealed design.
Already has 3 x 360 & Seos 12 WG but mabey something from BMS.
Active XO?
Add that together and my guess is in their somewhere.eek.gif
