2 Polk PSW10's or 1 PSW505 in a 15 X 15' room with vaulted ceiling

Thread Starter
I have read many of the threads about the Polk subs and how much better others are. Because of space under my end tables and cost I'm going with the Polk subs, I want to put them under my end tables. My question is I have a 15X15 room with vaulted ceilings, would you go with just 1 of the PSW505 or get 2 of the PSW10's and put one on each end of the room?

Never Mind I got the answer I wanted. Thanks to all...

Get two 505's!

forget you ever heard of the psw10, it is not worth it, not even if it was free. It is underpowered and barely goes down to 40hz.

I agree, the 10, 110, and 111 are pathetic.

I run a single 505 in a 15x13 room with 8 ft ceilings. With proper placement it does the job pretty well. Many people who have had better expensive subs still have a soft spot for the 505. If your primary use is home theater you may want to look into the bic f12. But if music is 25 percent or more of your listening, stick with the 505. I find it brilliant with music, and convincing in movies. It wasn't quite right where my wife wanted to put it, but when I moved it to a corner, even she agreed that was the thing to do, it came to life. It is potent enough for us, I like balanced accurate audio, not thumping and crazy loud volume. If that is your goal, get the BIC F12.

I agree. The smaller Polk subs are puppies that only wish they could woof.

With that size room, one 505 may be enough. Buy one now, and you can always buy one later if needed.

Dual 505s. You can always turn them down but they will still help smooth out the freq response across multiple seats. Running duals can lower distortion, each subwoofer doesn't have to work quite as hard to rearch a certain volume.

At the price NewEgg has them for I would get 2 at least.
