Hello all, I wonder if anyone can help me with a technical issue I currently have please?
I recently acquired a Sony BDP-S185 and hooked it up to my TV using HDMI. The picture quality is superb, however I can only seem to receive music audio and no voice/effects audio.
I have tried every possible combination of audio settings in the bluray player menu and nothing appears to work.
I can only get voice audio on certain discs only if they have a 2.0 ch setting but can never receive voice through the 5.1 ch setting with discs that use Dolby or DTS. I have tried the player on other televisions where there is no problem at all. I have also tried the player with an RCA cable where there is also no problem even using the 5.1 ch audio setting on the disc.
I am baffled as to why I can only receive music audio through HDMI when the disc setting is 5.1 ch sound. Some of my discs do not have the option to switch to 2.0 ch sound so they are currently rendered useless.
