I have been looking at the velodyne eq 15max and the optima 12. Listen to music but mostly for movies. Would appreciate any thoughts you might have.

Your room size would really help. smile.gif

I forgot to put the room size in. . About 3200 cu feet. It does have openings to the kitchen on one side and the family room on the other.

Does subwoofer size matter? Do you have space for more than one sub? Do you have much placement flexibility? Are you looking for high output in that space or are you more of a moderate listener? Do you already have some form of subwoofer EQ?

Would rather try a larger sub. right now I have a 10" boston and it just doesn't go low enough and when it does it distorts. One sub only and I do have some placement flexibility. I have an eq with my onkyo sr875 but don't really know how much it effects the sub. Would like somthing that does well with music also. Listen to a lot of classical and jazz

Rythmik FV15HP fits in that budget....

It's hard to beat a single FV15HP with the 550watt amp option for under $1200 plus shipping! I ended up going with PSA XS30s just to try them but the FV15HP was my second choice.

That was my choice after a month of research. Any of the subs over a grand will make you happy though.

With the 550 watt amp it comes to $1236 which includes shipping.

The above choices will suit your needs. Dual OUTLAW LFM-EX or Dual EPIK EMPIRE when they start to ship again would be great choices. This would as well HSU VTF-15

good luck
