Connecting two different IR systems

Mono price hdmi baluns with IR

This goes to my basement where I have a Xantech connecting block.

Can I plug a 3.5 into the emitter port on the wall-plate and into the receiver port for the Xantech? I didn't want to try it in case it might blow it up. I know the Xantech runs on a 12v but 3.5v and 5v are also common for IR. I can't seem to find the output specs for the wall-plate. Possible to hard-wire to the Xantech and just not the power line?

Any tips are appreciated. Thanks!

The Monoprice plates you linked to don't have their own IR receiver; they just act as a pass through. So if you plug a 12v compatible IR receiver on the receiving end that is compatible with your Xantech block, it will work. Also, the receiver that comes with it won't work in your setup. I'm saying that from personal experience rolleyes.gif.

Good info thanks!

Glad I bought a few extra receivers. I was pulling my hair out with the IR when the signal worked with mono price receiver / emitters but not plugged into the connecting block.

Thanks again!
