YSP 4000 or wait for the 4300- general advice

So, I bought a demo unit and a considerable discount on the 4000. It is awesome- but it's huge and isn't quite working for my space constraints.

I am considering taking it back and ordering the new 4300. I have some concerns though.

the 4300 has about half of the speakers as the 4000- but does include a subwoofer. The 4300 has many more audio codecs it will support including a small subwoofer.

I am worried that the 4300 will not sound as robust as the 4000 does now. Has anyone heard a demo of the 3300 or 4300 and be willing to share? The audio stores around here do not carry these products. I have only been able to hear the 4000 for myself.

Another question: Are the 3300 and the 4300 the only rumored models that will be shipping soon? Does yamaha usually release new audio equipment around CES time?

- The 4000 has no subwoofer, but has 40 beam drivers
- The 4000 lacks 3-D pass-through
- Has only two HDMI inputs
- is $400 less than the 4300

- The 4300 has a subwoofer, but only has only 22 beam drivers. (perhaps the included sub makes up for the lower amount of speakers)
- The 4300 also supports newer audio codecs, while the 4000 does not.
- The 4300 support 3D and 4k pass-through
- Has 4 HDMI inputs
- IR repeater
- Is $400 dollars more.

Unfortunately, nobody carries the 2200 (similar in the fact it has less speakers) so than I can hear if less beam drivers + a sub produces roughly the same quality in audio.

Some of my issues with the 4000 is it is very bulky and I am having issues with mounting space. This is leaning me towards the 4300 in many regards. My main concerns are really with the sound quality and less beam drivers.

I'd love to hear from anyone who has heard a side by side comparison of a 4000 or 4100 and a 2200 + a sub.

@ frostylou: How was the sound quality without the subs between the two? Am I going to be losing anything with the lack of beam drivers? Obviously, the 4300 is a new unit and I don't think many people have heard them yet. It seems they are not available for another few weeks.

I have a room with all reflecting walls so that is not an issue.

@Taichi- to answer your earlier question which I forgot to reply- I under 1k for the 4000. The new projectors will also have the new codecs as well. I am torn about.

That's the general idea that I am getting if I get the 4300 is to upgrade the Sub. The 4000 is nice, it's just too big. I think my theory is correct that a lot of the range is made up with the included sub. It's more than what I paid for the demo 4000, however so much better in size and I get the IR repeater and the newest audio codecs. Damn- how do I always talk myself into spending more money!

OK- took back the 4000 and got a great deal on the 4300

I hope the quality is much better I am excited for 7.1 for certain.
