DIY Center Channel

I was thinking about doing something wide and flat, possibly something that can become a tv stand. Then started looking around and found drivers such as this.

I haven't started digging around yet but I wonder if a nice 6x9 or something similar might squeeze into my tv stand or I can DIY something to go between the tv and the stand as a base.

any thoughts?

You would have to design a xover for those 6x9s to sound good. My center's huge, but my 70" tv sits on top of it no problem. Do you have a pic/measurements of the space you're trying to put the center?

One option that comes to mind based on the form factor is an SLA center (scroll down to the second picture):

That second pic looks cool. I just don't know if I want to build something with so many drivers. Is there an advantage besides power handling/output of using so many? I have thought of something like that pic as well.

I am going to take some measurement's and some pics shortly.

Look to a 3-way center channel. You can't just grab some 6x9s and instantly have good sound.

Not tryng to hijack, but I have been highly interested in the Statements and Statement Center Channel and was just wondering if you any experience with these?
