Kill streaks, I would say increase camping. if the only way you get the streak is kills, why wouldn't I camp.

Scorestreaks gave those that cap, get tags, etc an extra incentive and reward to do those things. They take on the majority of risk in doing those actions.

While the maps are so chaotic on ghosts, it does seem to allow an increase in the camping I have seen.

I agree, I LOVED in BOPS2 when I would play kill confirmed and run through a group, pick up a few tags and pick up a couple teammate tags and BAM reward! frown.gif

Had a great night of Ghosts last night. Even got some fan mail. biggrin.gif In their message, I was accused of being a "cheating, **** eating, something or other" I can't remember the entire message. I sent back asking if they were mad and if it was really worth getting upset over a game. The reply was "so is sucking your boyfriend's dick, and you must be good at that too". biggrin.gif I love hate mail!

Apparently you get a point towards your streak if you're first on a flag. In KC you seem to get nothing.

Yeah, the score streaks definitely promote more objective play. I used to run the support class exclusively and could keep a UAV or Blackbird up most of the match even though I never had all that many kills. I'll have to pay closer attention to how it works in Ghosts.

it was pretty smooth for my buddy and I for a couple of hours. One host migration. I've been exclusively playing KC so I can't speak about other

I typically run suppressor on all my guns as I like to stay off the radar, but I've been running the MTAR with muzzle break or whatever it is for extra damage. I'll have to give it a go again with the suppressor.

You also get a killstreak point in Blitz if you run into the enemy's portal. But nothing for defending as far as I can tell. And there is no good explanation about what is worth killstreak points in each of the different game modes. With the majority of players assuming you can only earn killstreaks by you know ... killing people ... it promotes camping and solo play.

BLOPS had this right with SCOREstreaks, it encourages teamwork and playing for the objectives.

Yes but black ops 2 did get a little carried away when it came to the UAV / counter UAV / Vsat assists counting toward your next streak. And that's coming from someone who runs non-lethal.

Speaking of non-lethal, I think I'm done with the assualt strike package. Besides the maniac most of these streaks are boring or ineffective or both. About the only thing worth while in the assault package is the gryphon-- which is ZERO fun to play with-- and the maniac-- which is ruined for me because of the fact you have to call it in via care package (you know how many maniac suits I've stolen?)

It's support for me.

IDK. I actually really like the gryphon...but I liked the AC-130 from MW2 also. The dog works pretty well too...he's gotten me several revenge kills. Sentry Gun seems weak though...

what perks are people running?

also, playing on ps4 seems different and i finally realized what it was, there was no Ms. Steelhouse yelling in the background!

I've stopped running off the grid and run wiretap instead-- the way I look at it if they can see you you can see them and depending on how many satcoms are on the ground from each team you may be able to see them more clearly than they can see you.

QuickDraw is a must on anything but SMGs and I'm beginning to feel that stalker is too. I run focus on most of my classes as I hate view kick. I'm fighting the need to run dead silence on all my classes but it's a losing battle-- sound whoring in this game is out of control. As much as bitched about 3arc getting rid of footsteps I'd gladly take no footsteps over what we have here. Dead silence is as close to the old stopping power perk as you're likely to find: it's a perk you must run if you want to win.
Just for fun I've been trying a lot of different perks, but I keep coming back to the same ones. Quickdraw and Focus and absolute must haves. So is Dead Silence. Once you equip those, there isn't much left...I usually round it out with either Marathon or sleight of hand. I did try the perk that gives you more bullet damage for a while today. At times it was pretty impressive, but you give up too much (5 points) to use it.

I played with a lot of different weapon combos today. Here's an interesting one: LSAT with grip, variable scope and rapid fire. Makes a big pink mist cloud...

Xcal swears by deadeye but then he plays a lot of cranked which is a streak based and you get all your speed/handling perks after your first kill and your chance at the 40% damage increase goes up with each cranked kill you string together.

Part of me misses the days when you just had 3 perk lists to choose from and you had to choose one perk over another. I feel like I need a PhD in CoD just to build a class in this game...

Btw, chainsaw is stupid OP. Get in on this before the nerf. I'll be in AZ until Monday so I won't be able to abuse the scrubs with it this weekend.

Quickdraw on a rushing class is a must(even on SMG's), but the Stalker bonus is next to nothing on SMG's. Is has a nice plus to AR's. There's several videos on Youtube about it. Rushing w/o dead silence in this game is virtual suicide. The camping/sound whoring will absolutely destroy you w/o it.

I play a lot of kill confimed, like to see them add cranked kill and confirm wink.gif

I's just like to see them add more modes for hardcore period. It's ridiculous they always start out w/ minimal options.

Anyone play Blitz yet? I just spent a few hours on it and it's wayyyyy more fun then it has any right to be! There's something about doing that knee slide into home that is immensely rewarding...
With the size of these maps, I would like to see a separate group of modes for Ground War, not just the combo of TDM and Dom games.

I think by doing that you'll decrease the amount of lobby games

Totally addicted to blitz, and if you use support killstreak getting a capture counts towards your streak. VERY fun!!!

Blitz is fun. I usually get half the teams captures. Its all I care about and running past campers is easy. Certain maps I am waiting for my last captures 10 second clock to run out to score again!

The bitching about the MSBS has begun. Drift0r, a popular you tuber, has titled his latest vid: 'MSBS is OP'.

His argument is the two shot kill with the speed of the burst makes the gun too powerful-- in his words an "insta-gib gun".

I personally love the MSBS and am not really sure how OP it really is as there is a fair amount of luck involved in getting a one burst kill and once you have to go to a second burst the gun is now the slowest killing weapon in the game. Still, I understand his point. I wonder why IW didn't just bring the famas from mw2 back: not any more powerful than the standard assault rifle but hyper fast fire rate and super low recoil. Sort of like the g11 from blops 1.

I'd like it if they'd have differentiated the weapons a bit. I pick stuff up and I have no idea until I check the name what the hell I'm about to use! Is this a marksman rifle or an SMG!? I have no idea!! smile.gif
post #1072 of 1758
I played a match against an entire clan of M27 LMG campers. That gun was a two shot kill at range. All of the guns are OP thanks to the low time to kill, but some are more so than others.

This weekend will be an interesting test for Ghosts on XBL. I'm hoping the "dedicated servers" are going to be 100% for the XBONE guys.

I won an XBONE from MTN DEW/Doritos, so I'm looking at 8-12 weeks according to their website for shipping. But getting an XBONE for less than half price is worth a few weeks wait. biggrin.gif

this might be a dumb question, but when you are changing your perks/gun/etc.. where do you see how many "points" you have left. I don't mean to spend, but how many your guy can "handle". With BO2 it was pick 10, i can't tell how much i can add? sorry if the question doesn't make sense

Lucky you. Very cool.

Re: dedicated servers...has there been any 100% confirmation that they are being used for the 360 as promised?
I remember MS's statements about dedicated servers changing over time.

Originally we were told all MP games on Xbox One would be on dedicated servers.
Then it was, "we are offering dedicated servers to game studios but it's up to them to use it".
Now...?

I believe it's 10 with ghosts also, not sure on that though. If you look at the little bar that shows what perks you have selected, it fills that in as you select. It doesn't really give you a number, you just have to judge by how much room is left in the bar or add up the points yourself. Dumb ui design decision (lots of those in ghosts).

It is sort of a mixture of the pick ten system from Black Ops II and the old CoD systems.
  • You get a primary weapon and two attachments for free.
  • You can have a primary gun with no attachments, one attachment, or two attachments and it won't affect the number of perk points you have
  • Starting out you have 8 perk points to use towards picking perks. Each perk can range in cost from 1 to 5 points
  • You can choose to use a secondary weapon, lethal equipment, and tactical equipment
  • If you do not choose to use a secondary/lethal/tactical, then you get one additional point to spend towards perks for each item you don't use
post #1080 of 1758
This is sad but I did not realize that for the operational challenges, you are suppost to highlight a challenge and select it with A and then you get a huge list of challenges to select from. You then pick which challenge you want in that slot. If you don't select that t challenge it doesn't count towards your completion. I thought it was just the challenges listed on the screen when you first go into operations, I didn't realize there were all those others to pick from!
