Same. I think it feels really, really different from BLOPS2 is why, which I was playing daily for the last year or so. First 5 minutes I hated it, but I kept playing it and I like it. I skipped MW3 so I totally forgot the 'feel' of IW COD.

Funny thing is I heard a lot of people saying "IW doesn't like campers" and all this stuff about game dynamics forcing you to move around the map. I call BS on that. The maps are huge and I was getting constantly sniped last night, often right at spawn. If you make run for indoors then guess who's waiting there? Oh yeah, corner campers galore.

I agree the campers were in their glory last night....but thats to be expected. I am actually happy this is a bit different than BLOPS 2, if it wasn't everyone would be screaming that its just the same COD as last time. The squads concept is kind of fun but does the XP (SquadPoints) carry over to when I am on MP and wanting to purchase a perk or something? I forgot to check last night as I only played 203 squad games with a buddy.
The maps are huge in comparison to the past COD I have played. We need a Nuketown smile.gif

Need more squad points?

Apparently lots of people don't realize this... When looking at the 5 operations... Hit the A button. Each of those 5 is actually a list of 10 different things
If you complete 5 Ops, you get an extra 4 points. (Don't know if this repeats) Ops are supposed to "change" every two weeks, but you can also spend a point to "re-roll" your Ops.

Also unlocking a "new" soldier costs you 3 points (for the first few), but will get you points quickly as they level up. Points are shared, so you can use them on your first squad mate if you want.

Lastly, every field order you complete gets you 1 extra point as well.

That's why I was looking forward to the FreeFall map. I played it a couple of times locally. But I never saw it during the time I was playing MP online.

I'm so ****ing bad at this game. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but since unlocking anything takes days of playtime and all the hardcore no-life player already have the best perks I just get **** on round after round.

To be clear: I like the game. But I feel this is one I'll need to play with a team or not at all. Ghosts demands more of a time investment than I'm willing to make at this point in my life.

I've found that i can't do anything without the quickdraw perk. Maybe I'm getting older, maybe it's connection issues, but if I don't have quickdraw I'm dead before I can even get my weapon up.

Same for me here. I have pretty quick reflexes and I can't even get my gun up in time before I am dropped.

On another note, squads is much better. I have a chance the majority of the time and it feels normal. Something about online that I just can't put my finger on.

This happens as we get older...or so I'm told biggrin.gif

Sorry...I couldn't resist!

If you're playing TDM there's still a ton of camping. And people will try no matter how much they do to prevent it, but I've been stabbing a lot more people in the back than usual, especially in Dom.

Yeah, I don't quite understand the operations. Do you have to complete one of each if the five category to get the 4 points? I swear I've got like six ops completed, but it's still sitting on four. I don't get it at all.

A quick tip to get lots of squad points is to play the hunted game mode, especially with a new character. Load outs are irrelevant, since everyone just starts with a pistol and it's a mad dash to get to the crates. Plus you're getting all sorts of bonuses pop up because you're using so many random weapons. After ten matches I had like 30 points.

Well said. I attributed my fire button being shut off to lag compensation.

I would think so, haven't done it yet myself.

The dedicated servers have at least been consistent, and it's been great to never see a host migration.

The only time I felt I was noticeably lagging beyond reason was about 8pm Monday, when I was clearly getting matched up with a ton of Europeans who already officially had the game. But without the connection bars constantly reminding me how bad it was, I found that I was quite a bit less fixated on it. I still played and had fun, even though I was getting stomped.

My BIGGEST problem is that I have a very hard time seeing the enemy before they kill me. This has nothing to do with running around, or going slow, or camping or anything like that ... I just cannot see the enemy. I have upped my brightness and turned on CBA and it doesn't seem to help.

We'll see what happens as I play some more this week.

Get some glasses Helen Keller...

I just read that someone playing the 360 version saw host migration.

Can anyone comment on the graphics and if the Xbox version takes a hit compared to the PS3 version since it is 720p and PS is 1080p?

Say what? I have seen several host migrations so as far as I can tell the dedicated servers are not online at all.

I have played enough games now that I can definitely see some connection inconsistencies. Like killing someone and the death animation is delayed a half second and some more curving bullets. Give us the freaking dedicated servers IW! I bet they are rolling it out with the XB1 and we have to wait for the leftovers.

Hmm...I'm playing on ps3, and mostly played SP after 2pm yesterday. Maybe they had to fall back on listen servers for some people from the launch day crush.

The current gen versions are both sub 720p, and the PS3 version looks super blurry. Frame rate holds up in MP though.

MSBS is a nice weapon. I little more unruly with full auto but manageable. If you aim is solid a single 3 round burst kills. It is a nice weapon for sure.

Honey Badger is also good but I struggled with anything beyond medium range using it.
Burst rifles have always been my favorite in recent CoDs. I ran the Swat for a long time in Blops2.
Try using the burst attachment on the marksman rifle. I was just tearing people apart with the mr28.

We've had 3 or 4 host migrations also. It doesn't appear that we have dedicated servers for now. While the lag seems pretty good for the most part there have been a few hiccups here and there where you can tell it's the same old setup. Hopefully we'll get the promised servers with the One.

Jumped on for first game and was immediately sniped, then came the dogs, then got sniped by someone in a helicopter,f'ing, really! Need to wait till this weekend when wife and kids go out. I have enough aggravation in my life, why did I add this.LOL.

Sounds like fun, I'll make that one of my early unlocks.

Blowfish - I don't have many issues seeing enemies, as I thought I would from yours and bd's comments. There are a couple of maps where everything is brown and it's just impossible for me to see them.

Also, that large map with the courtyard sucks. Way too big for 6v6 and invisible snipers in every window it seems like. There's 2 other maps that I kind of hate but I don't remember the names right now. Overall, the maps are surprisingly ok for IW.
I've seen quite a few host migrations as well as some moments of really really bad lag.

That only happened maybe 4-5 times in the many hours I played last night. I also don't think dedicated servers are being used.

I'm loving the game so far. It "feels" like the hit detection/lag comp is much better this time around than in BO2. At least for me it is.

Yeah the huge map sucks for SnR. That one match the other team went all the way around the edge as a group and we spent a few minutes without seeing a single person. I'm assuming on Xbone with 9v9 it will be a bit better.

Marksman IA-2 with suppressor and holo site is badass.

The one I really dislike right now is chasm...there's just way too much going on. I can't even figure out how to get to B half the time. Not crazy about siege either.

Been playing multiplayer for few hours now and it's starting to get boring. Critics and reviewers were right, this game sucks.

Call of duty is losing it's appeal.
