Although I agree a lot of "boutique" gear happens to be terribly overpriced for the performance you get, there are a few exceptions nevertheless, and all pro gear is not necessarily all that special either. This might help to explain why my system contains both pro gear AND high quality Hi-Fi gear.
I also have better woodworking skills then the dudes making the cantons.
Even if you did, it wouldn't make a whole lot of difference anyway because the speaker cabinets of my Canton Vento 890.2 DCs are aluminum.
Why pay 4-5 k in markup when you don't have to.
