Why does music stutter on ps3 from Synology ds212j NAS?

I've got a Synology ds212j NAS cabled to Apple Airport Extreme, wirelessly connected to Playstation 3.

The PS3 sees the ds212j as a media server and i can stream photos and music to the PS3 for playback on TV.

Problem I've got is that music stutters on the PS3; I get a gap of 1 or 2 seconds several times during playing one track (mp3 file).

I don't get the stutter problem when listening to music from the ds212j on a windows laptop wirelessly, using either windows media player or DS Audio

Looking at the data transfer from the ds212j while streaming mp3 files, I notice that a large block of data is transmitted at the start of each track when playing on a laptop, but many smaller blocks during playback on PS3,

Any suggestions on how to stop the stuttering on the PS3? It is ruining my listening experience?

Use ethernet on the PS3 instead of wireless. Try powerline adapters if you cant run a cable or if you really have to use wireless then an ethernet to wireless bridge might better handle streaming.

Thanks Alx330,fixed using TP-LINK ethernet adaptors (plugged into multi-way mains plugs and separated about 15m!) smile.gif
