Just came back from Skyfall, and I want a curved screen now

I was looking at getting a curved screen but they are designed to be used with a anamorphic lens to address the pin cushion effect. Without the lens the picture will have some distortion. In the end I decided to get a flat screen as I have a long throw which reduces the pin cushion effect so I can still add a lens in my system if I chose to. When my JVC RS55 comes I'm going to try zooming first to see if I like the picture quality.

When I go to cinemas that have big curved screens I come home glad mine isn't curved. The curved screens look...well...curved. I notice it. And they are curved in order to ameliorate certain problems. If you don't have such issues, no need for a curved screen. I find a flat screen more natural.

I just rebuilt my flat screen into a curved screen and I like it.

I haven't constructed the new mount for my Panamorph 480 so I've just watched a couple of movies with it zoomed and it looks pretty cool to me. I don't notice any distortion.
