I have an xbox 360 but don't have a live account. With windows 7 I could still connect to my xbox and stream music or video from my pc. Can I still do this with windows 8, I have tried but it only seems to work if I have a live account. Thanks

Wow, that's a move out of Apple's playbook. Seems Redmond is done with backwards compatibility.
Good luck.

you can create a local account. there's no such thing as a live account anymore. it's been replaced with a microsoft account. you can use your previous live account as your Microsoft account. the only difference between a local account and the Microsoft account is you don't have access to the Windows Store.
