Hello all. Just joined the site after doing some research and finding this informative site. I'm looking for a receiver, speaker and sub setup for under $500 ($600 if need be). I bought the Bose and while I was impressed with the sound, I couldn't set up everything (xBox etc) like need be. So, I have determined that I need a receiver in order to accomplish this.
For now, I'll probably only go with a 2.1 or 3.1 set up. I've read some things on here for the differences and advantages of the Denon 1513 v 1613 (which I'll continue to research). With that said, I have three questions:
1) Is there a better alternative to the Denon 1513? For now, I only have xBox, but may upgrade to BlueRay at some point (doubt I'll upgrade tv to 3d anytime soon).
2) what speakers do you recommend?
3) what sub do you recommend?
Like I said, I'd rather spend below $500 but will spend a little extra if need be.
I also realize that these questions may have already been answered on this forum, which I apologize for, but in my brief search I could not find any.
Thanks in advance.
