Serviio Media Server question.

I don't think Serviio offers that. As an alternative (albeit not free), try a server I've developed - KooRaRoo Media. It has that functionality and more. I'm also always happy to assist with any issues or questions. Thanks!

I just downloaded and am trying your product. There are a few things that I have noticed that gives me pause:

1. Even if I say I want to install in my drive D:, Your product still installs the database, transcode area and logs in C:. I can move the transcode area, but for the database and logs I have to use a symbolic link to get to go to d: As more people begin to use small, fast SSD storage for booting and operating system software only, this will become an issue.
2. My DLNA target device can allow DSD based music files, but your software will only see pcm based files. Do you plan on supporting DFF and DSF (DSD audio files) in the future?
3. Your software does not open .iso or .mkv containers for video or audio. Will this be supported in the future?
4. I configured the software NOT to use My Music, My Photos and My Videos, yet your software library still contains these. How can I remove them from being processed and used?
5. I could not see a way to grab live video/audio feeds from security cameras such as using rtsp, rtp or http streaming. Did I miss something?
6. I can only see the main process running as a 32 bit executable. Is there a reason to not use a 64 bit process?
7. This program does not seem to execute multiple threads to process the media import. Is this true?
8. The initial load of the library says that it will take nearly 59 days! I have a very fast computer with very fast storage, why the slow load?

Thanks for trying it! Most disk space will be used by the transcoding files, but databases can grow to a few GBs and one of the next updates will allow you to move them as well. Yes, can you please send one such file to support (at) kooraroo (dot) com and I'll investigate it. .ISO is not supported at the moment, but work on implementing them has already started. MKVs are fully supported and should work. Did the MKV files get added to KRR or they didn't even get added in? We can sort this out through support (so that we don't clutter the forum here with technical details). If you are referring to the top level folders which are yellow, then these are just placeholders and not your actual disk folders. Disk folders are blue in color. If you deleted the three pre-defined disk folders on the Welcome screen, KRR should not have added them in automatically. Can you please confirm that they are actually there (or not)? That is planned functionality as well and is being tested now. It'll be released in one of the next updates. At the moment you can stream online audio (such as radio stations). No, no real reason and I'm running a poll on the forum at the moment to see if most users are on 64-bits now. One of the next releases will introduce a 64-bit version as well. The way it works is that there is a thread per folder (when you use "Add Disk Folder") and then once that folder is processed, each file is processed on its own thread, but for video files, only one file at a time is processed so that the CPU is not overloaded (since FFmpeg can take up a lot of CPU, depending on the file type, to create the thumbnail). Music and photo files are processed in multiple batches at the same time. That's actually the total playback time of your library, not how long it will take to load it

I have a related question. I am new to using DLNA servers but wonder if it possible to use one to stream pictures and Netflix from an iMac through a DTV H21 DVR to my Sony flat screen. I have downloaded Serviio but I am not sure how to set it up correctly or if it is even possible. Other online forums seems to indicate it should be but it is not very clear how too do it.
Any help would be appreciated.
