In prepro, i set all spkr and sub levels to 0 dB.
In prepro, i set sub distances to equal the STARTING position of both subs.
In my case the STARTING distance for each sub is NOT the same.
I turn off sub 2 and disconnect main spkrs.
I move mic to be exactly 1 ft from sub 1.
I use REW SPL meter, REW sub calibration pink noise generator and prepro master volume to measure 70 dB. This is with sub 1 prepro level = 0 dB.
I write down prepro master volume.
I turn off sub 1 and turn on sub 2.
I move mic to be exactly 1 ft from sub 2.
I leave prepro master volume as is and adjust sub 2 amplifier volume until sub 2 measures 70 db in REW SPL window. This is with sub2 prepro level = 0 dB.
Now both subs are outputting 70 dB when mic is exactly 1 ft away.
Both subs are at 0 dB level in prepro.
I move mic to MLP.
I turn on both subs.
I leave master vol where it was and measure sub 1 and sub 2 SPL at MLP and write it down (main spkrs are still disconnected)
I turn both subs off and re-connect main spkrs.
I leave prepro master vol where it was and adjust prepro levels for left and right main spkrs until SPL is same as both subs at MLP.
I write down the left and right main spkr prepro levels.
I then start moving subs.
While i'm still testing and moving subs, i don't update sub distance in prepro.
I guess i need to after but i think Audyssey will do this when i rerun it with new sub positions.
Is this correct?
