Question about going from Blu-ray to AVI

I'm trying a trial version of DVD Fab. One thing I don't understand is there is this option of converting Blu-ray to AVI. I tried this but I could not watch the resulting AVI file in either Windows Media Player or Media Player Classic. If someone chooses to go from Blu-ray to AVI, how does he watch the resulting AVI file?

You'd have to find a format that Windows likes. I suspect most people who do this are using media servers or Blu-ray players.
