Using Foam Blocks to De-couple bookshelf speakers

This is all you need, assuming you need anything at all. 'De-coupling' is pretty much a myth, promoted by companies that sell de-coupling products.

But if you do have some buzzing between the speakers and desk this stuff will fix it.

Wouldn't shelf liner from the dollar tree work just as well?

Something that works really great to put under speakers is the thin rubbery "waffle" material they sell in RV stores to put on shelves to keep things from sliding around.

It comes in a roll and you just cut a piece slightly smaller than the bottom of the speaker with some scissors.

You do NOT want to completely "decouple" the speaker from the desktop; on the contrary.

Don't really know for sure, but even if it's not, couldn't it could just be doubled or even tripled until it is?

Curious: Why is a thickness of 3/32" significant when it comes either to "de-coupling" a speaker from a shelf, or to fixing buzzing between a speaker and a shelf?

The stuff I linked to is 3/32" thick rubber, sufficient to stop a speaker from buzzing atop a shelf. I don't know if shelf liner from the dollar tree is the same stuff.
