Speaker post for subs- banana or speakon

I need to order my speaker posts for my 2 dual opposed SI build and I would like to know what the majority prefers, banana or Speakon?

If speakon, does anyone ever use normal 12 awg speaker wire or just the cable in black jacket that is round?

Depends on which cables your using. I just use regular speaker wire so I go with these

I've come to love Speakon connectors and since all my amplifiers use them I design my speakers with them. You don't have to worry about them ever being accidently disconnected.

I hate banana, it's almost as bad as bare wire with spring terminals. Never again with I use banana (unless I have to).
Spade or Speakon is what I'd recommend.
Speakon is more expensive but is quicker to use and nearly impossible to short out and is much harder (but not impossible) to accidentally disconnect, especially after encasing the bindings in glue.

I've used all of them, Speakon would be ther best but I use bananas on all my subs now. I don't need the security of speakons and have never had a banana fall out.

What are you guys using your subs for that you are having issues with bananas coming loose? Those bad boys must be doing some crazy dancing. smile.gif
