ZombiU: How long will you survive? (Answer: Not very bloody long) - Page 2

This seems to be a love or hate it game.. I'm firmly in the 100% LOVE it category.. From the very beginning, you know you are going to be in the fight for your life and you aint no dude bro bad ass protagonist. I'm an every day weak human food for these crazed zombies.. the game itself however, IS bad ass.. it's dank, dark, creepy and chilling! The learning curve is steep and it's justified in being absolutely FAIR even though from the on set you will DIE! This game is almost eerily similar in some design ideas to that of Dark Souls! There is no hand holding but once you understand the dynamics you can and will be VERY effective against the horde! This game requires a certain amount of patience as you will get your ass beat down if you think you are just going to run around guns blazing! NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! However, it's the kind of patience that has a feeling of utter relief, the tension in this game is beyond any other I have played.. and no, I', not 13 so I have experienced nearly every game in this genre. In the end, the game isn't perfect, but what it brings is really fresh and a throwback to true survival horror. Be prepared to DIE often and early, be patient, and in the end when you attempt survival mode, you will feel like there is a glimmer of hope completing it! You will understand what I mean by the time you beat the game. The multiplayer is also VERY good and rarely spoken about... my wife however isn't a gamer and she cringed every time I cracked the skull off a zombies head! :P

Agreed. I am LOVING this game. Just really getting into it after beating The Cave with every character.

Pure survival horror at its best. And boy does it use the gamepad well!
They have also announced a patch coming soon as well. I have had zero glitches myself but I heard there is a bad one near the end, also discussed in this thread. I'm hoping the patch is out before I get there.

This game is great though. Really happy with it.

Awesome, glad you're enjoying it. The biggest glitch in the game can be completely sidestepped by well, not dying at that part, so consider it extra motivation to stay alive. biggrin.gif

Right after I beat ZombiU I started playing through RE6 with my brother, and man, now it just feels wrong to be able to run circles around the zombies in that game and karate-kick them to death without a care in the world.

I'm really hoping the patch is released before I get there. Especially since I'm not exactly sure where I'm not supposed to die. biggrin.gif
I'm trying to avoid spoilers.

So far the game has been near flawless for me. I've only seen a couple of glitchy zombies. That's it.
Love the upgrades that you get during the game. I'm dying a lot less now. Playing much more carefully. It's pretty tense.

I thought I'd found another glitch, but it was a temporary anomaly. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
I was just about to reach the evac from the Tower of London, and was rudely attacked by a couple of biters just before exiting to the rooftop. I panicked and pushed through them. I think they killed me, but I reached the rooftop, then everything froze.

When I restarted the Wii, the game resumed back in the Safe House w/ my next objective (restart the generator). So, I guess I just managed to finish the evac objective.

I'm at the exact same spot. Felt like I was being overrun on the roof and then it went to the cut-scene. Maybe you just skipped the cut-scene by accident?

Maybe so. I saw the rooftop for a second, then there was a frozen image w/ what looked like a chopper in it.

I died on the roof the first time too. The cutscene played and then I woke up as a different survivor at the safehouse with the next mission.

I was going to say that this game sounds like Demon's Souls for the PS3 as far as the creepy/difficulty level is concerned.

I've noticed that I don' t see as many zombie survivors any more. Does that mean less people are playing?

Yesterday, I came out of the manhole at the market and encountered a zombie survivor inside the room, in the dark. That was a wicked surprise! I wonder if someone died there on purpose to mess with people.

Ha, that happened to me once too. After a particularly stressful part of the game, I came out of the manhole thinking "Well, at least I don't have to worry about any zombies in here" and when I turned the corner there was a red rage zombie standing right in front of me. Hilarious.

I came across two more interesting non-critical glitches last night: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
1) After I got the medicine from the nursery, I realized I hadn't unlocked the door to reach the shortcut back to the safe house. The guy on the radio started hacking it for me, but I was overwhelmed w/ a horde, and died. When I resumed as a new player, and took the shortcut to that field outside the nursery, he was still telling me he was working on it, but the door was open.
2) While heading back to Vikram's to exchange the medicine for the petrol, the woman on the radio announced they were holed up in the church, and the radio guy warned me that it might be a trap. When I reached the safe house, the upper left screen announcing the next objective alternated between the church and refueling the generator. Also, the green targets for both objectives were on the map.
