DTS 5.1 not working on ps3 games that support it

so basically my setup is a Panasonic SA-PT480 home theater which has the dts logo and i have that hooked up via digital optical cable to my tv and i have a slim ps3 which also has the dts logo hooked up via hdmi to my tv now when i go to my sound setting on my ps3 i click on hdmi then manual then i check dts 5.1 and when i play games that supposedly support dts which are battlefield 3 ratchet and clank all 4 one killzone 3 i get no sound why is that?? and also i have tried optical cable from ps3 to home theater and still no dts sound

The audio is going through the TV before going to the HTiB. The TV doesn't pass DTS via its' optical out is my guess.
Hook the PS3 directly to the HTiB and see what happens.

The TV can't process DTS and will not pass it out the digital port. Very few TVs pass DTS.

Most Panasonic HTIBs process DTS from their own disc players, but not from external sources. If the game can do DD 5.1, try that instead using the direct connection from the PS3 to the sound system.
