For me Epic was a gateway to the band. It became a weak track once the album digested. I still like it though.

The song of the day is:

Type O Negative - An Ode to Locksmiths

I like some of their songs better, but I absolutely love the section in this song that has the lyrics below. Not that I care so much about the lyrics, but the tune that goes along with it is so cool, it repeats later in the song. Check it out, get on it, you have homework to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woe to thee all women
Of land, air, and sea
Adam was the serpent
Apple 'tween his knees
Seduced by a snake
Worshipped by nations
Banished forth from Eden
It's the male who is Satan

Love Type O, I could recommend all kinds of great tunes by them. So underrated IMO.

Hey, you guys ever hear of Fu Manchu? They make me want an El Camino. King of the Road, I can live in the riff.

I agree Fu Manchu is great. Very consistent. If you like Fu Manchu, definitely check out Nebula, Lowrider, Orange Goblin (1st 3 albums anyway), Sasquatch, The Atomic Bitchwax and Kyuss.

Has anyone here ever heard of Suicidal Tendencies? Mike Muir seems really cool it's a shame he was put away in an asylum for liking pepsi by his parents.

My Heavy Metal song of the day: Dowth 2059 by Suidakra off "Book of Dowth." Here is the music video:

Never really got into them, they definitely can't be categorized cleanly. FWIW Robert Trujillo of Metallica (and previously of Jerry Cantrell's band) played with them years ago.

Song of the day: Centric Flow from the band Obscura

I LOVE the last section of this song. You will be forced to crank it up when you get to that part and you'll know what I mean.

Doesn't look like Spotify has this one mad.gif Not sure I have heard it. eek.gif But I will second your opinion that they are highly underrated!

Anyone ever listen to the earlier stuff from Finger Eleven? Pretty much anything on their "The Greyest of Blue Skies" album. If not my song of the day will be "Drag you Down". I love the music on this one. Cool walking bass line, very crisp guitar riff, and some cool drums to start this song.

How come no one has mentioned Zombie? White or Rob? Great stuff!!!

No, in fact I haven't heard of Finger Eleven. If I remember right Peter Steele also used to be in a band called Carnivore, but that's all I knew about. I'll be checking out the above for sure.

I've never been a big Zombie fan, not that I dislike him/them either. Maybe it's because the radio (not that I listen to the radio anymore) has played them to death. I really did like Astro Creep 2000 back when it first came out and I saw them at Sandstone for that tour.

Ditto for me on that. Stupid mainstream radio...

As for Finger Eleven.. They are not the heaviest band or anything. In fact it can come off depressing. But I do like the way they structure their music. As a bonus Scott Anderson is a very accurate singer. Check out their self titled album also. It has some really cool riffs and drum beats throughout the album. Thousand Mile Wish is a beautiful song. Unfortunately each new album gets softer and softer. But I still enjoy them. cool.gif

I keep wanting to add to this post. lol Check them out if you like them we can talk more. lol:D

Yeah the zombie stuff is played a lot. And its not like you can make an emotional tie to his music. Or at least I hope not. But it's fun and its catchy and works really well with movie soundtracks.

Go crank up your sub(s) and listen to Return of The Phantom Stranger. Its on Hellbilly Deluxe. There's a cool bridge breakdown thingy at 2.42. But with a good sub the whole song is fun.

Angela said he wasn't interested in Death Metal anymore... So maybe this time he left for good. That's too bad really. With that said I have yet to hear Nick Cordle but she said he's awesome and/or even better than Chris, and I trust Angela's judgement tongue.gif

...When I told my wife (who is realllly not into Death Metal lol) to listen to Intermezzo, she instantly loved it, and then she became curious about Arch Enemy. Now she loves them!!! Not all the songs but quite a few - I think I converted her! tongue.gif I'm actually amazed that she doesn't mind Angela's singing. Of course after seeing pics and having told her that she was a babe, she was a bit mad at me, as usual biggrin.gif

I do and i enjoy them all as well as As I Lay Dieing, Miss May I, In This Moment, Mastodon, ISIS and a bunch of others that fall into some of the strange sub genres of metal.

Like Machinae Supremacy who classifies them selfs as SID-Metal

I enjoy Atreyu. The rest I can tolerate.
