Thursday Rare Thrash Day! I'll share some of my rarer thrash finds

Here is an awesome band called Scepter:

This is the UK Sabbat (the better of the two in my opinion)

I don't think Bulldozer has been mentioned yet!

I listened to these guys every day back in the day! Metalucifer

Fast and awesome Fueled by Fire

Here is my favorite tape from my younger days. Artillery - By Inheritance. This is the best of all of them

+1. Heard these guys for the first time last December when they were on tour with Lamb of God, Hellyeah, and In Flames. Was pretty impressed with them. Thanks Smitty for the reminder! biggrin.gif

Here's some groove metal to start your weekend. If you like Pantera you'll probably like this. It's produced by Phil Anselmo (Pantera's singer).

Warbeast - Krush The Enemy

Death ****ing Angel !

I know it's not the Black Lucifer Our Viking Lord Of Coagulated Blood From The Weak metal you guys like but I always though Saigon Kick was kind of ahead of their time and Suicidal Tendencies still rock pretty hard.
Since I flooded the last one with lots of videos, here is a song I love from the band I cared most to share.

Artillery again. It takes about 2 minutes to get started but I love this music.

Hehe! Sounds like a good title for a song.

Suicidal's How Will I Laugh Tomorrow ... was a classic. If they could only toughen up his voice.

OK. Here's a couple to temper it down just a little for you. This is about as light as I can take wink.gif, but they're still very good.

Savage Messiah - Insurrection Rising

Lazarus A.D. - The Onslaught

Lazarus AD are one of the better retro thrash bands.

Valtyr, thumbs up on Artillery. I have all their albums.

Ok, so I've lurked here on and off for years, stumbled upon this thread, and was finally drunk and inspired enough to create an account, just to show you fellows this magnificence.  Since all of you appreciate sound this is album available through bandacmp for free in flac format.  This is a 20 sumthin minute instrumental ode to all that is metal and fantastic.  Starts with classical piano and gets redicoulus.  best album of last year, still blows my mind.  7 years in teh making, this is nothing short of a masterpiece.

Good day sirs and madams!

Welcome!

Nice music, reminds of Trans Siberian Orchestra a little bit but must more classy.

The new Puscifer album has a great cover of Bohemian Rhapsody. Dear Brother is a cool track too. Great hard and tight drums on that one.

Exodus' old singer with his two sons in the rhythm section.

You can buy it on bandcamp.  I recommend giving the whole album a listen!  The first time I listened to it it blew my mind.  Track 5, pandora, has one of the sickest drops i've ever heard, a real sub tester.  The amount of layering and production is nuts for a metal album.  I can't wait for the vinyl release!

Hatriot sounds too much like Exodus.
Good Exodus though. Better than the Partridge Family smile.gif

I've thought the last two Exodus albums were mediocre.

You know, I didn't pay attention to the graphic that went with this song until after I posted it. Then I thought, "I wonder if someone will be offended by it" (although someone is always offended by something). Personally, I don't pay attention to lyrics or graphics. If I took them literally I'd probably think most bands worship Satan and are spree killers. It's all schtick done for shock value, although after 30 years of these album covers who does it really shock anymore? Hatriot's gotten some backlash for the upside-down burning flag, but Souza explains that 1.) It isn't the American flag. It's the Hatriot flag. It has pentagrams instead of stars. 2.) "A hatriot is somebody who loves their country but doesn't necessarily agree with the hypocrisy that goes on with it".

People can make their own judgment..

Interesting acoustic cover of "Highway To Hell."

Revocation is one of my favorite bands. Great cover of Dyers Eve

Seems Halloweenish
...Speaking of Halloween, how about some nostalgia? wink.gif

(the recent live versions kind of suck, I prefer the studio flavor)

Classic song from a classic album!

Here is a great Halloween song. Type O Negative is basically the soundtrack for the Holiday IMO.

I like Helloween a lot. I have all their albums.

I don't know how widely known this is, but it's Rob Halford's mid-90's band. Still on my regular playlist after all these years.

lulimet, I was gonna post that Revocation later. Good choice. Technically gifted band.

I have most of them too, but the more I think of it, the more I think Kai Hansen was the best singer they ever, or should have ever had. In Walls Of Jericho, his singing wasn't very good but the overall mix didn't help. Over the years he got more assured and his voice matured too. I can't stand Andy Deris' voice with Helloween, Kiske was better, but they both are too "dickinsonish" to my taste.

Here's Ride The Sky by Stormwarrior, with, of course, Hansen at the vocals... Pretty good version too!

I always like this album too, and the first Fight album. I saw them live in a hole in the wall bar shortly after the first album came out, great show.

Oh, my god - here it is guys, love the sound on these Metallica recordings for the 3D Imax movie. Here is the greatest song of all time done right live:

If you don't like Orion, pretend like you do for my sake. smile.gif

I have all the Fight stuff. War Of Words is my favorite album.

Do you guys have any of Halford's albums? He has put out 4 albums with his band Halford. Very good straight up heavy metal.

Today I picked up the new Motorhead. Loving it so far. Lemmy is a legend!
