Hi, welcome to the SEK club!
Considering these TV's have internal fans and the SEK rest outside of the TV I have accepted it as normal operation. Mine runs as hot now as it did day-1. Whatever the temp is that it runs at is what it is. It has not gotten any hotter and has not failed .
I would also like to mention that I noticed a few picture features have been removed upon installation of the SEK. I didn't notice them at first. For some reason Samsung has removed "Led Motion Plus" and "xvYCC" picture options from the menu. "Led Motion Plus" was beneficial to have control over. "XvYCC" deep color was also great to have. The F series has "Smart Led" which I'm sure is close to "Led Motion Plus". The F series does not have "xvYCC", so maybe that is now automatic. But still, "Led Motion Plus" on/off was a useful feature. I "think" it set the panel into 960hz or inserts black frames for smoother motion?
I am not sure if you noticed this or not, but the Angry Birds app is no longer after the SEK installation. Why Samsung has chosen to remove it make no sense at all. It is fun for the whole family. The kids loved it and shows off the motion control. I hope they bring it back. With that said, everything else the SEK brings with it such as the new Smart Hub is super cool.
I have also run into a couple of other issues..... One was with the new "Digital Clean View NR" and the other was with the "Hard Wired Internet Connection". So far the "Digital Clean View Noise Reduction" has worked wonders, but for some reason it did not like one scene in the new Blu Ray release of STAR WARS A New Hope. It was in a later chapter that starts off with the cast in the trash compactor. The DCVNR was set to High. The begining of the chapter was going crazy as if a story board effect was taking place on top of the scene. It was really awkward. Immediately, I started replaying the chapter and turning on/off all picture options. When I turned off the DCVNR the scene immediately played normal. If anyone has this movie please give it a try and let me know.
The second issue may just be my router. The SEK connects fine. It is hard wired to my Router Via cat5 cable. YouTube and the Internet all connect and work great. But,,,, I can only connect and check for a Software Update perfectly once. If I try a second or third time to check for a software update it comes up as error 601, "The Internet connection is not stable" and it does not connect. I find this very weird as everything else in the TV (such as apps) that use the Internet work perfectly. If I shut the TV off then back on again I can check for a software update once again. But only once without the connection error. I would like someone else to cheack and see if they also have this issue. Thanks.Edited by badabing - 7/25/13 at 6:07am
