I thought the Evolutionary Kit was only for models ES7500 and up. I did not think that it was available for Model ES7000 and ES7100.

Seems like nobody has it in stock now. Sparco is listing it as on sale for $175.44 with free shipping and earliest eta for back in stock being May 22. http://www.sparco.com/products/A6GR480.html

Looking at the main warehouse locations, I would hazard a guess that Sparco (and likely Cost Central) are getting their inventory from Ingram Micro as it becomes available.

Anybody ever use sparco.com? They're not better business accredited but they've been around for awhile

It is odd that all of these random boutique electronic sites are selling the EK but no major US retailers have it yet.

I think that they are just selling them before street date. Perhaps because they purchased through another retailer who can't sell them to their customers before street date. It's the same when a new video game or console comes out, a lot of the smaller mom & pop stores will sell you the items before street date but the bigger retailers will not

One thing I have noticed is that EVERYONE is selling it for around $170-$185. So I'm certain that will be the price on Amazon May 28 if not $159.99-169.99. So as consumers, we need to be aware of inflated prices from those who do sell before street date

As someone who has worked in sales/retail for many years and has seen how these practices go, I highly doubt that the price will go up on May 28. Anyone saying otherwise is basically just scaring people into paying a higher price now

Also, be aware because I know some people are canceling orders through retailers because they ordered while in stock and than realized that their order was backordered and in fact was not immediately available. So be aware if you place an order with someone who says its in stock that it very well may not be

Prices in the UK are pretty close to MSRP, which was already higher than our MSRP. It is costing them around $300-$350 USD.

I would have preferred to have bought it from Amazon, fingers crossed that when I pick up my package tomorrow it does not have a brick in it!

Yeah they always pay more over there. Good luck with your order, I'm sure you'll be fine as others have
I might be willing to risk paying a little extra to have it early if I could find a retailer who actually does have it currently

As I mentioned above, Sparco and Cost Central are resellers of electonics and computer gear distributed by Ingram Micro. Their web inventories are probably linked to the Ingram Micro catalog of products and automatically reflect Ingram Micro's product line and a small margin of profit. I'm glad we were able to get a hold of an early shipment of these before they appeared in the retail chains. I have bought from both Sparco and Cost Central before and never had any problems. If you know the ingram micro part number, there is actually a way to special phone order through Staples (useful for redeeming staples business rewards).

I dont know why are comparing a $500 set-top box, blu-ray, gaming machine with a $170 hardware/firmware TV upgrade. You could build a nice PC for $500 and hook it up to your TV too....

If a person was planning on getting the new X-Box, it would be worth considering that option.

Dont forget the xbox live monthly subscription fee. Obnoxious they require it to even use Netflix. Will be interesting for sure though to see how the PS4/Xbox One play out

Yeah it comes out to around $179 after shipping. It's also being sold directly by Amazon now for $211 with Prime shipping (but it says it ships in 3-4 weeks) or TigerDirect through Amazon for about $208 after shipping. Nice to see these prices coming down though from the ridiculous entry price at Amazon

The new hub you get with the evolution kit , does it have any extra feature concerning the media player of the TV? For intstanse:

- More formats support like iso
- Extra information like posters , covers etc.

Also did anyone tried the plex client app? Is it faster now ?

Thank you

This evo kit has NOTHING i want for 300$ since thats EXACTLY what us canadians will be paying plus taxes/= 330$
So for that 200$ more i'd rather get a xbox1 or a darblet, i STILL haven't used the hand or voice gimmick on this TV, don't care to & all those apps are useless to me.
My PC is better in every way & if i want gimmick i'll take xbox1's gimmicks 100x over scamsungs.
Like some 1 else said, 50$ is what i'am willing to pay "MAINLY" for that new remote, otherwise TO "ME" this is garbage.
I can get a new HTC 8X phone for 300$
i can get 2 hookers for 30 mins for 300$
i can superfreak for 1hr+ with some teenage crack whore $300
i can be drunk for 10 days in a row for 300$.....etc.....etc......etc

I hope the 2014 evo kit has something useful other wise this gimmick is a write off.
I think the bottom line here is pretty much "Do you want a much improved smart interface?" The smart hub is greatly improved, voice navigation really works pretty well, and the new remote is a vast improvement. If you don't use the smart hub there is little reason to get the kit -- but if you do (or think you might) then adding the Evolution Kit is almost a no-brainer -- it really is a big improvement IMHO. No, I don't see any improvement in picture quality (which is already excellent on my 8000 plasma) but otherwise I couldn't be more satisfied. YMMV:)

Just guessing here BUT you are prolly the type that just HAS TO HAVE it, the latest, whatever it is no matter the cost.
You either can't control urself &/or ur spending habits or you have TOO MUCH $$$ & STILL have No control of ur spending habits.....

Logically, this EVO KIT is a TOTAL bunghole waste of $$ when compared to other BETTER alternatives.
YES there are products out there Now or soon to be that will do the same **** & if u sell ur tv you'll still have the device for your next TV.
Sorry guys to pee in the coffee but the EVIL KIT by Scamsung is Over Priced what should have been a FREE FW update.
LOL @ 200$ POS OP quad core & ram ripoff.

I'am sticking to opinion that this evil kit is a POS DEAL ! ! !

Hehe ... why would anyone hate you? What I highly suggest to you is to spend the $300 and get some education, as little as you can get for that kind of money is better than nothing.
