$1700 is a lot for that TV. The 60" are even currently going for $1499 "sale" price. Just check around the web. Most online stores are still just taking "pre-orders" though. Looks like another few weeks before places will be fully stocked up with all sizes.

I believe this is the link, it is the only thing I could find

This was the link I was referring too. Was hoping to wake up this morning to find more than just the new pictures (mixed with the old CES report). No such luck frown.gif
Oh well, I'm sure the review will be coming soon.

But really, these examples aren't comparable. Your have a Sega and everyone else has Nintendo, you can't share games. HD-DVD is discontinued; no more new HD-DVD releases. Plasma is discontinued (unconfirmed), but so what? Sucks for those who might have wanted a Panasonic Plasma in the future, but it doesn't exactly hinder plasma owners in any way.

I know man I took my 50" back waitin (and still will purchase)on the 60"st60

For the record I played the hell out of that Sega!

Statement was a joke/observation

Judging by that price he is likely Canadian... the land of getting ripped off on electronics! tongue.gif

The ST60 will outpreform the UT50 in almost every way, is it worth the difference? that can only be determined by you.

That's weird..... looks like the pics are only showing up on the mobile CNET site. I was looking at it on my phone last night, but just tried the link on a PC and the pics were not there...

Wall mount:

Does anyone know what size the mounting holes are for this and if it is VESA compatible?

You should be fine with any VESA mount rated for your screen size. Monoprice has the best deals.

My current tv mount has M8 (8mm) bolts, I want to make sure this TV doesn't use M10 (10mm) bolts. I can't find this information anywhere on their website.

It uses M8.

I have been following this discussion since day one and went out and preordered my tcp60st60 2 weeks ago for $1399 from video only. It seems like over the last 2 weeks since I have been waiting I have gone from extremely happy about my purchase to maybe not so sure. I have had this plasma http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-tvs/panasonic-th-42px50u/4505-6482_7-31349719.html since 2005 and it is still working perfectly. I know that I will not be able to purchase another tv for at least 6 years. Knowing the information that I provided and seeing what plasma I currently have did I make the right choice? It was a toss up between a panasonic and Samsung. I could have spent up to $2000. Thanks.

Kind of a tough call, but I think you made the right decision. Some may tell you that you should wait one more year and buy a 2014 Panasonic plasma as it will be (possibly) the last run of plasmas, and (probably) the best series they've ever made. At $1399 for the ST60 60" though, I think that is a killer deal. Only reason I would say not to go for it would be the now infamous "lag issue", which you may or may not care about (and which they MAY fix later)... or if you are wanting a dual core processor in a TV. Dual core would be the only thing I see them possibly improving on next year with the "ST70" model. I'd assume (and have read) that picture quality will be a small improvement from this year in the 2014 models (as they will be using the same panels, tech, etc). I don't see any Samsung model fitting into what you are looking for, as the F8500 looks to be out of your price range (in a comparable size)... The F5500 may prove to be an ok tv, but there is not much info on it other than everyone "predicting" the PQ will not come close to matching the ST60. One last note, if you COULD squeeze out another $500 (above your "budget"), the 60" VT60's are $2499 "sale price". You'd get a heck of a lot more TV in the VT series, but then again.. it is an extra $1000+ over the ST series.

Did D nice do a review of the ST60?

Where is it available?
No review, just posted his calibration settings.
About the ST60's Amazon Instant Video app: Does it support the Watchlist? I have an S60 now, and its app does not, which makes it completely useless to me.

Hello.

ST60 Canadian prices are $1400 (50"), $1700 (55"), $2000 (60"), $2700 (65"). I plan on getting the 60" when it's released at bestbuy or futureshop. But this lag issue makes me think about the s60, but I need the anti-reflection filter. I might wait to see if canadian costcos get the 65s64, because the 65s60 is also $2000.
