Thanks for the insight, good info! I might just make my current laptop an internet interface for streaming video, browsing, etc. HDMI to the ST60 and digital coax to the surround system (No HDMI cave-man stuff). Then I can buy a new lap-top and my wife can stamp her feet and count to three!!biggrin.gif

Cheers

Yesterday they dropped the price of the 55" ST60 to $1,229 so i submitted a price match request and just got a $65 credit back on my card - with only a few days left before my window closes biggrin.gif

Long time no post, but routine reader.

I've got approximately 1567 hours (since April) on my 50" ST60 at the moment.

Upon entering practice mode on NBA 2K14 I've encountered the following issue:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxlPY65VM0E&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Not sure what's going on here, and I notice the same thing on some faces at times. Any help would be great - thanks.

Why is that a TV issue and not a game glitch?

I read reviews of different panels and when it comes to 3D talk you usually read things like "who cares anyway" or "acceptable but does it really matter anyway". To be fair, I have yet to enjoy 3D at home and I'm basing my 3D love affair SOLEY based on IMAX in theaters. That said, I did get a chance to see Avatar in 3D at a local shop viewing it on a VT50 last year. I was impressed.

Anyway, since the ST60 @ $1500 is my price point, I'm concerned with reviews that state things like "for the money, there are better Plasma sets for viewing 3D" and "Plasma tech just doesn't come close to LCD/LED's for the Pop required for GREAT 3D in the home"

For the record, my wife and I can't stomach the soap opera effect we see on LCD's even though I understand this can be somewhat defeated with "motion" settings turned off. I absolutely love the above mentioned "pop" but who can argue with the stunning picture quality of a Plasma?

So I suppose my question is this... What do you, owners of the ST60's feel about your 3D exp.? Are you impressed? Do you often find yourselves even viewing 3D much? I'd love to hear your thoughts about this issue....

Thank you so much for your help...

I'm coming from a GA7900, with passive 3D. I expected the 3D on this TV to pale in comparison.. But my GF and I both found that it is actually very very good(in our opinions. The passive set that we had prior, lacked a certain sharpness or detail

No complaints on 3d here either looks very good, noticed more pop out effect compared to my VT50 actually

You're good. BTW, if you don't mind, please tell me how you could submit it. My ST60 is from Amazon too.

Thanks.

Just go to your completed order page and look for the icon that says "Found a lower price?" and click on that and follow the prompts.

Just took deliver of my ST60 yesterday. Service provided by CEVA via Amazon.

- Selected the standard delivery vs the schedule one(I had no choice for some reason).
- Ordered on a Saturday, Arrived the following Thursday.
- Cevo called me the day prior to schedule a delivery time(they do offer Saturdays as well).
- Selected the 10-2 appointment time, delivery guy arrived at 11:15.. I was actually asleep(I work late lol).. And missed the Appt time.
When I called the guy, he actually offered to come back and attempt redelivery. Re-arrived 30+ minutes later.
- Delivery guy was just one man.. with this huge TV. I'm a bigguy so I helped of course.
- Got the TV inside. He first tried to get me to sign the delivery form.. I declined, and asked to checkout the TV.
- From there, dude unboxed, checked for damage with me, let met plug my cable in and try a few channels, and put the stand
together on his own. Not sure why he tried to jet out initially.. but he was really good at his job.
Very pleased with the delivery and the set smile.gif

Thanks for this! Mine is being delivered Monday by CEVA as well. Helps to know what I might expect.

God, why did I schedule it for Monday, and not Saturday?! The wait is killing me.

Call them And see if they can get you on tomorrow's schedule! Can't hurt to ask!

I only watched about 45 minutes or less of World Series first game and next night noticed the dreaded IR from the broadcast in both upper left and right.

If it is still there tonight I will run the pixle flipper overnight. Have about 300 hours on it so far.

Same with me. I had around 160 hours on it last night when I started the game late. I skipped through the commercials and after around 1 hour 15 min noticed the same logos in the corners. I had to put my daughter to bed, so ran pixel flipper for around 30 minutes, then normal content with my wife for a couple hours. When I put the slides on to run overnight (which I'm doing to get hours on the panel) the IR was no where to be seen.

65" ST60 just dropped as well...$250 to $1950! I had two days remaining for the price match. Very pleased.

That's odd - we watched almost all of games 1 and 2 and i don't have a hint of IR on my ST60's screen. I'm running a slideshow here and there to accumulate hours and i've examined my screen for IR but so far there is no IR from any of the logos and tickers and station ID bugs etc when i look at the colored slides. I'm running it in Custom mode with Contrast set around +85, and all of the Pro settings at their factory defaults.

Sears will not match the Amazon price .....
Saw both S60 & ST60 right next to each other today and damn it is close ...yes the ST had a bit more pop to it but not much. Both were 50' models.

And if you spend some time calibrating these sets, under normal lighting conditions, it would be even closer.

It is still there after watching a blue ray movie last night - I use the DNICE grey slides to make it easy to see, don't see it with other content. - I will run the pixle flipper all night tonight.

I am using close to the CNET settings on Cinema mode and my contrast is in the low 80s as I recall.

Asked this question a few pages back. But does anyone know how to connect a Bluetooth keyboard to the ST60, or if its even possible? I'm using the Melee F10 via USB, but would prefer bluetooth input
