I'm on the wait list for I think dnice or chadb to calibrate it but at this point I'm going to have to cancel.
Just finished my perfect set up as well, pioneer andrew jones soundbar, ps4, wiiU, xboxone, ruko, ATV3 and now my tv's busted.

probably shouldn't run it on home theater at 100 contrast. calibrated st60s seem to be in the low 80's for contrast. hopefully it goes away. I had the komo 4 news logo ir on my old plasma for awhile...but it was mostly only noticeable when I looked. I think I could notice it on some normal content while viewing but it was in the bottom right corner so I don't think I cared much haha. its probably just stubborn ir though. weird these tvs get it so easily

Hey thanks Comfy. Believe me I've spent hours attempting to troubleshoot this already. All manner of cable switching, WDTV/Panny settings and problem cannot be eliminated. As I mentioned, the other 2 plasmas I have do not exhibit the problem given the identical connections and settings. It may be just my specific unit but I am not going to swap it out. Too many other positive attributes going for it. What I haven't tried yet is a 1.4 HDMI cable as the Panny may like that better, however I can't see how this would make much of a difference going from a WDTV Live Plus to the TV.

If someone were to post..."buy a new receiver with audio delay function, that's you're only choice fuzzione," I can show that to my wife and say ..."see?" smile.gif

I am thinking about getting Amazon to take it back and bring a new one. What are the odds I will get a quieter set if I do this? Do not want to go through the hassle of returning for nothing. I do not notice th ebuzzing unless it is a quiet scene or I walk by the TV, but it is annoying. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

my st60 buzzes as well. its not annoying though. when I run slides the volume of it changes based on the slide color. grey is pretty loud. I notice it when I sit at my desk which is to the right of the tv though. I don't notice on normal content. my computer is always making noise which isn't loud at all so minor noises don't bug me. I would say either you got unlucky and got a very noisy one or just aren't watching your content loudly enough lolol

Lmao very shrewd fuzzione! Ok here goes...

To whom it may concern;

To make this problem go away I suggest he get a new AVR that has a delay setting from Santa this year, one that possibly has Audyssey XT32 because you might as well try and fix some room issues. Many sales are going on right now wink.gif
Try HDMI in the meantime it can work wonders.

Like many others, I picked up an ST60 recently on news of Panasonic leaving the plasma business. Hooked up internet over wired connection and the TV auto-updated its firmware. I wanted to give it a quick shakedown before starting break-in slides. Everything works great except for the Amazon Instant Video app. It randomly crashes about 60% of the time at various screens. Sometimes it crashes on startup, kicking me back to the Lifestyle home screen. Other times I'll click the play movie button and it'll crash back to the home screen. No error displayed, just click the button and bam, home screen. This happened probably 15 times in 25 tries. I checked again for an update but my TV has the latest. Anyone else having this problem?

How are you connected to the internet? Do all your other apps work ok?

Edit;
In the top right corner of the app screen click on the settings icon. I didn't try it but some apps are able to be deleted, if possible I'd uninstall the Amazon app and try reinstalling it.

Wired connection to swtich, switch goes to router. Not that it matters but it's a DSL connection 20mbps down, 5 mbps up. Youtube app worked fine but that was the only other one I tried and only twice. The only thing I haven't tried is reinstalling the app or a factory reset. I only played with it for ~2 hours before starting the slides. I'll try that in a few days when break-in is complete. Thanks for the tip.

Gotcha your internet is very good. I'm not saying the reinstalling will work but it usually works on other devices. Check back and let us know.

I have two 50" TVs, they both buzz. One is louder than the other but both buzz.

If you're sending it back you better hope they hold a replacement for you. Amazon is already sold out of the 50" as of about 4 or 5 days ago, they could sell out of the 60" at any time.

I haven't run into that but can check later tonight if I remember.

Are you positive that receiver doesn't have an audio delay? I've got a low end Yamaha HTIB receiver from around a decade ago that has audio delay.

Fairly positive. It's the VSX816 which in its day was a decent performing budget receiver; a budget receiver nonetheless.

According to this it does have audio delay:

Look at audio processing, it's called "voice sync".

Looking at the manual downloaded here http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Home/AV-Receivers/Pioneer+Receivers/VSX-816-K%7CS there's no mention of controls to address lip sync, just speaker delay for the surround sound, which isn't what you'd need. Let's hope you've been good so Santa can bring you a new AVR!

I refuse to use the Amazon app as it lacks the watchlist feature and is thus useless to me. My Amazon watching is done via Roku, which I can highly recommend.

Hmmm, interesting. But I searched the manual for "delay" and everything I found seemed to indicate it was for adjusting speaker delay for the "Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration"; a search for "voice" turns up nothing. But, maybe this isn't the right manual?

I haven't started using Amazon streaming much, but I checked to make sure it works on my 60ST60. Watchlist sounds like a good feature. Does anyone think we have hope of Panasonic incorporating it in an updated version of the Amazon app?

Thanks to Samijubal and Eben for your efforts to assist. Despite Sami's link suggesting a voice sync function, as Eben has commented I can find no such feature in the manual. Looks like I'll have to depend on Santa, which is not a bad thing really. This receiver is way past its best before date. Last year the channels were cutting out on me and I spent 3 hours opening it up, cleaning relays, resoldering and.....fixed it! Bad move on my part as wife says....'if it works you don't need a new one.' I was certain not to make the same mistake with my LG plasma that developed a panel defect. Had I opened her up and also fixed it I would not have my beloved 60ST60 now! One learns from their mistakes biggrin.gif

I'm the opposite wife, if hubby can fix it then we's a keepin' it which is just fine with me. wink.gif

This may be the reason you have IR issues. If you have a bright room and need to have the contrast that high then, this may not be the right TV for you.

Check and make sure the time & date is set properly in the TV menu. This can cause app problems.

Can anyone tell me the height from entertainment center to the bottom of the screen?. I am asking to see if a sound bar would be able to sit in front of the tv without having to mount the tv.

Thanks,
The tv stand itself is 1/2" thick and is 22" wide and sticks out approx. 6" from the front of the tv screen. It is approx. 3 1/2" - 3 3/4" from entertainment stand to the bottom of the tv screen (viewing area), less 1/2" if you have to set your soundbar on top of the actual tv stand which is 1/2" thick.

Hope I didn't confuse you even more!

I have the Cable DVR connected to HDMI 1. The speakers down to zero. The Toslink runs to the JBL. No problems. When we run Netflix - just hit the Netflix button on the ST60 remote. We programmed the Comcast cable remote's volume toggle to control the JBL.

If/when we replace the JBL w. the Panny soundbar, I'm afraid the volume command for the Panny soundbar will be the same command as for the Panny panel - thus controlling all the speakers!

In my denseness, don't know how to make use of the HDMI 2 (which I gather is the ARC connection - and as I understand it, ARC has special speaker facilities builtin). Do I leave the DVR in HDMI 1? The JBL only has a Toslink input, no HDMI. I think the Panny has both. Assuming the Panny has HDMI input, how/where do I connect it?

Thanks.

I don't use it as a PC monitor. I can only imagine the IR I would see. I notice 3 lines. The S64 I have only has one line.
