I have some thoughts regarding an upgrade to my current media setup, please see
Current setup: iPad/Iphone/Ipod for surfing the web and email.
Old laptop to download torrents through.
PS3 to play torrent movies stored on PC on full HD projector.
Ideally I want to skip the computer as it is slow and a bit redundant. I want to find a way that I can download torrents controlled by a webbrowser onto a standalone harddrive. As such creating a 'headless' system
Ideal scenario: A media player with Harddrive (i.e 1 TB) that has a torrent client that I can operate from my ipad. This device should also play the content on the projector
Optional scenario: A NAS (1 TB) with a torrent client that I can operate from my ipad's safari. (lkeeping the PS3 to play the content)
(i.e D-link DNS 320 or Netgear ReadyNas)
The PS3 as a media player is not ideal as it doesn't do .mkv and 99% of 1080p content i compressed in .mkv. Thus ideally I want an upgrade.
I've been looking around a lot to find a product that solves my media problem. I'd appriciate your expertise to get a second opinion.
Regarding budget, I'm looking in the entry level of the market. However, of course ready to cough up if this means getting the 'ideal scenario'
Many thanks in advance!
