Thanks. The fact that both options cost the same won't last. Hopefully they'll remember to move you back to 2 devices. Then again, considering your household of dozens of DVRs and streamers perhaps you could use the new plan biggrin.gif.

PS3 isn't working with UnoTelly after the latest update. Won't play anything, just errors out. Hmm. Still works fine with the BDT220 though.

Some PS3/Unblock users experienced problems after the update, with error messages popping up when trying to play certain titles. The Support section posted they worked on the issue and advised to reboot both console & router, then sign back in on their website using a PC/laptop and activate the service again. The issue occurred with several regions and only affected the PS3. Perhaps you could try doing the same and see if it helps you with Unotelly.

Last week we discussed what might be the same problem, only using Unblock. I did some testing and commented on it here.

I know you did, I was just adding that it had the same problem with UnoTelly. It doesn't matter much to me, the BDT220 is my preferred viewing platform. I already rebooted my router to no avail. I'll send them a msg about it anyways.

Switched from UnblockUS to UNo telly for the trial period. Not happy. I use the router settings as I have several Roku boxes in the mix, but notice a severe lag loading certain webpages. This has never happened before. Odds are I'll go back to UNBLOCK in a few days, did not setup auto payment so when the monthly notice come I reevaluate if I want to pay the extra $ for the slightly better feed.

I've never used Unblock but I did recently get a year of UnoTelly and have not had the problems you describe. The only negative difference I've noticed when I had the router set for UnoDNS was that I was getting buffering issues from Vudu on the Roku that I didn't get before. I've since changed the router back to it's original settings and use UnoDNS for individual devices. I've since watched the 4 hour "Lord of the Rings The Return of the King Extended Edition" on the Roku on Vudu and it didn't buffer once during all 4 hours. As far as the Netflix example short, I'm still getting 5800 kbps but it doesn't ever seem to be consistent across the devices. One day it will reach 5800 kbps on a certain device and not get to 5800 the next day. I'm still thinking that the problem is on the Netflix side?

I let my UnoDNS trial expire and I went back to Unblock US.

At this point I have cancelled Unblock-US and stopped using UnoDNS (I won't renew at the end of the trial period), Neither were reliable at getting SuperHD servers - and even when they did it wasn't clear that the SuperHD streams were much (any) better than the HD streams.

I still find that Netflix on all streams (including SuperHD when I get it) has issues with banding (see House of Cards opening sequence) and black level / shadow detail - it is OK but not as good as Satellite/Vudu/Blu-Ray - but apart from that looks pretty good (viewing on a calibrated Panasonic Plasma 55VT30)

I am back using OpenDNS.

I am able to get the Super HD streams for the most part. I havent really had time to mess around much to determine for sure if this is device/app version specific or what but it appears to be. I can never get above SD on Canada region on my PS3 or my brother's PS3, but on my Roku I am getting HD at the least if not Super HD but the Roku has no indicator. All other regions I have no problem getting SuperHD using either device.

The Grey got to 1080 HD in 35 seconds, Haywire took 21 seconds and Limitless took 13 seconds to get to 1080 HD - all with DD+ 5.1.

I apologize this is incorrect. Charter Cable does not provide Super HD at this time. I found out my daughter occasionally ties into a VPN and this falsely lead me to think Charter was providing the higher resolution. My bad.

I was surprised to see my cable network RCN Chicago supporting Netflix CDN. Best part was my tv LG LM7600 was supported too so I am able to watch the superhd and the 3d format.
Lot of titles are available in superhd but again I am not sure how good it is compared to Netflix HD. 3d is fun but they have I guess 10-13 titles in all. Will be great if they can increase it and get some good 3d movies. But again that will depend on the number of users who can access it since the big cable operators are not on board with cdn.

Last I heard there were 55 (see this post); there should be more by now. Your television's Netflix player's browser should have a 3D genre row, as pictured here.

Thanks for the tip, will check it out. I was searching for 3d in the search bar.

What's the deal with the PS3's display? I saw one title one day that came up as "720p HD" but then everything else has been the older "Medium / HD" type display.

Really? What are its version numbers? (You access them with UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT UP UP UP UP--I take snaps of the screen with my phone rather than try to write it down). I haven't seen that "Medium/HD" type notation on any of my devices with that stream status display since it first went away, replaced by vertical resolutions. I just got a new UI version on the PS3 yesterday, which I describe here.

How do I deactivate netflix on the PS3? The old trick on the hidden menu now only lets you log-out, there is no more entry to deactivate a device.

That has to be done at Netflix.com doesn't it?

I think that logging out is pretty much what deactivation is. You cannot use the player again without giving the log in information of some account; that information isn't stored on the PS3. It's exactly the same effect on platforms where that secret screen has a "DEACTIVATE" button.

Can someone remind me for the third time how to stop it when it wants to skip to the next episode in a series during the credits?

You have a very special and unique PS3 Netflix version. It's really strange that it says that one component of it was built in April when I've had at least 3 different versions with "1080 HD" instead of "High/HD" for months before then. My version info reads:

PS3 Netflix Version (Click to show)

...and that screen is part of a multi-page dialog that pops up after the "secret code". (The pages are "Member Information", "Network Information" and "Device Information"--that one-- with "Check Your Network" and "Sign Off Netflix" options).

To get out of the next episode thing just hit CIRCLE (it says so at the top).

My display on the PS3 is still messed up. Is anyone's else like mine?
Mine's still messed up too. I can see clearly enough if it's "1080 Super HD" as it sticks out over whatever text it's overlapping. (It always gets to "1080p Super HD" since my provider is set up for Open Connect smile.gif). The rest of the information is there, though the time counter isn't as interesting on the PS3 anymore since the same info is at either end of the scrub bar, which can be brought up with DOWN. The name of the current audio and subtitle tracks can be viewed the same way. Pretty much only the resolution indicator--the messed up part--is still useful rolleyes.gif.

Though it's a totally undocumented and unsupported feature I'd expect the developers to realize that its screwed up and fix it sooner rather than later. The display was no doubt created primarily for their own use.
I think with the scrub bar they are going to get rid of the text overlay. The website does not show it. I really like the scrub bar and use it more now by hitting DOWN on my PS3 remote to show the remaining time.
Mine looks the same, had a hard time trying to discern what the resolution was.

What do you mean by that? CTRL-SHIFT-ALT-D and CTRL-SHIFT-ALT-S are still available in the web player for me. Both display what resolution encode is being played and which is being buffered.

I'm pretty sure that overlay display is a debugging tool which wasn't put there for you and me to use. I doubt that they'll take it out.

Circle is "back to Browse". I want to continue watching the end.

Navigate to the reduced picture with LEFT and press SELECT.

When I hit display my PS3 is only showing the build information. How did you get the Video quality, time and audio information?

But that is a secret shortcut which most people don't know about. Hitting Display or Select on the PS3 remote is not secret.
