Not sure. I'm hoping for some sort of Animal Crossing update myself. That and any Wii U news they feel like spilling.

Well I've just joined the Wii U owners club as of last night, so far I've just got Mario but haven't gotten around to playing it yet. Looking forward to playing ZombiU based off what has been said here about it.....

Congrats! I'm still not finished ZombiU but I'm loving it. Pure survival horror at its best.

If you're into puzzle adventure games The Cave is a lot of fun as well.

Thanks, I've seen 'The Cave' mentioned a few times but hadn't really paid it any mind. I'll look into it, thanks for the recommendation.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Yes, My Japanese is sub-awesome. I know all of "Iie" "Hai" and "Biru", or however you spell "beer". Oh, and "Aho", which is what people say under their breath when I stumble over "Biru kudasai"

I laughed. Try "Biiru wo kudasai" the "w" in "wo" is silent and the "ii" is long. You should get less flak for that. If you want I can PM you a project of mine that may help.

Alex Ward of Criterion Games gives a developer walkthrough of the upcoming Wii U version of Need For Speed: Most Wanted. He talks about all the improvements to the Wii U version of the game including using the PC textures, improved draw distance, and other improvements. It is worth a watch for sure.

Not really my cup of tea but hope the game does well purely based on the attitude of the dev.
At the very least it sounds as though the developer is taking the time to properly port it over( from the PC, not home consoles) and taking advantage of the Wii U's features. For that reason alone I don't mind supporting the developer by buying the game, that and I haven't bought an arcade racer since Burnout Paradise....

Really great article. One thing I noticed...

People are so worried about graphics and what one system can do vs another. Obviously once the Wii U is properly harnessed it will outshine the current systems, but who cares? The new systems will be out soon enough and I'm sure they will take top spot once again in the graphics department. Doesn't matter though, for me it's always about game-play.

The gamepad is really something new and that's where I'm getting most of my enjoyment from at the moment. Nintendo is great at looking at the gaming experience in a new way.

Besides, like many of us, I own more than one system. But one thing that I don't buy a game for is just graphics.

Nice to see a developer taking pride in putting out the best version of the game it possibly can though. Very cool.

Wii Street View is really amazing. There's a great shot of the Sydney Opera House at night, I can walk around inside the Colosseum in Rome, all kinds of great stuff.

Also every time I start, it opens in a new location.

The CPU die shot was posted, it is more straight forward than the GPU, but still has a lot of surprises.

Question. I have Wii U connected to Denon 1613 connected to Panny 50ut50.
This setup has bad overscan on the Wii U system screens.
Does anyone know how to fix the overscan? Thanks!

That sounds interesting. Is it a free download from the Wii shop?

Only if your display supports various overscan options.

Thanks for the suggestion. We enjoyed looking at a view of the street outside our house from July 2009 and seeing our previous car in the driveway and a tree that was taken down by a storm a couple of years ago. I'll be checking out other places where I've been, or never been.

Too cheap to pass up.

That's one of the few big SNES classics I somehow just never got a hold of. Haven't played one second of it, never even seen it in person. Admittedly, it's not quite my cup of tea, but for 30 cents...
I bought F-Zero for 30c + 2c tax yesterday.

F-zero and pilotwings absolutely BLEW MY MIND as a kid. They're still solid games but they've been surpassed by everything else multiple times over. I already paid $8(!!!) for it on the Wii, for 30c, there's little reason not to get it....but it's value is purely historical and nostalgic.
Yeah, I often find that if you miss out on a piece of pop culture during its original heyday you'll just never appreciate it on the same level as everyone else. Like, I'm sure I could recognize F-Zero as a basically objectively great game for its time, but I'll never have the memories of spending countless hours playing it sitting cross-legged on my parents' living room floor, y'know?

Similarly, I have gotten in fights with significant others after forcing them to watch CLASSICS OF OUR YOUTH that they somehow missed out on growing up. "How can you love me if you don't love Karate Kid?" is a legitimate relationship question, god dammit.
