I just tested and the 3100 was able to play it fine. I almost said it didn't play it either, until i realized i was trying to play it through the video section. When i changed to the music section it worked fine.
My next question is:
With the mention of 4k upconversion more and more, will i be forced anytime soon to buy a display that supports that? Currently I have 2 1080p displays a sony from 2010 and a panasonic plasma 2009 model. Both are working great after 3 years of use. I just wondered where home entertainment was going technology wise. I know people with CRT Tvs and a regular DVD player and they're still content. So I know my setup won't be obsolete anytime soon. I just wondered as a whole where the industry was going.
Like I said I don't regularly follow stuff unless I have a need to, or if something is going to change that will specifically affect my usage, and needs.
