Using AirPlay

Hi,

I recently bought a Pioneer VSX-1122K receiver and i am really happy about the receiver. I have setup a 5.1 speaker system at my home. I do however, have a small problem and hoping it will be resolved here. I am trying to air - play videos from my iPad but it does not work. Only the audio is output through the speakers and no video.

Any pointers on this would be greatly appreciated.

It only works with audio. I use an Apple TV for video stuff. I love it.

do you mean to say i cannot airplay videos from iPad on to my TV? frown.gif

correct, your pioneer receiver will not output airplay video

I am not sure, but I don't think there are any receivers that will output airplay video

Correct. Apple doesn't license video on any Airplay AVR models, rather as motobonsai suggested, you'll need to connect an Apple TV.

The Apple TV will also do Audio, so an airplay enabled receiver isnt' necessary, just let the Apple TV do it all for you. It should be noted that Apple tv outputs 24bit audio, not 16bit, and sample rate is 48, but the audio works over HDMI connectors, haven't done the Toslink yet.

Above is audio spec, inlcudes up to 5.1. CD audio will get slighly modified but only an oscillascope would "see" the difference.

thanks all for you replies.. it was very helpful.. i dont own an apple tv and would suffice to say.. i have to just start with the audio from airplay..
