Hey there,
I am in the market for a new plasma/lcd tv. I have been reading up and it looks like the vt50 from panasonic is very nice. However it's about 1/2 and inch to wide to fit in my media furniture
.
I don't care if it's plasma/lcd/led whatever, all I care is that that horrible fast motion look isn't present. I seriously cannot stand going to people's houses and watching their tv's when that is present. I believe I read that its because of "motion interpolation" being used with tv's at 120hz and higher. What confuses me is that my 8 yr old plasma looks perfectly fine and runs at like 600hz.
So I believe I "need" the 24p mode to get rid of this effect and I believe the vt50's have 24p @ 96hz which is 4:4 pulldown or it shows the same frame 4 times to keep the tv at a true 24fps as opposed to other 24p tv's that I guess just slow things down, which leads to other problems. I haven't seen this on lcd/led's so I am assume I have to go plasma to get away from the soap opera effect.
The TV cannot be wider than 50inches and preferably a smidgen less wide, so I don't have to crowbar the sucker in there
Thanks for all your help!
