Emotiva XPA-5 or "second-hand" Parasound HALO A 52

Hello everybody!

I would like to get some advice or just oppinions on this. I am aware of Emotiva sale which ends on 15th so I should decide as soon as possible. I have an opportunity to buy A52 in a very good condition for $1500 and about $150 delivery cost (Czech Rep.). Emotiva is now for $769 plus $320 delivery.

Amp is supposed to feed Klipsch RF-7-II HT system with Emotiva UMC-200 or OPPO-BDP105 as a pre/pro. I really do care more about SQ than value for the money but if there is only a small margin in terms of SQ I'd gladly go the cheaper way... I read a lot of good stuff about both amps but unfortunately I am not able to listen either of them here in Czech Republic so it's quite a blind shot. I will gladly appreciate every idea or advice you can give me.

Thank you very much, Jan!

The verdict is, that I am going the expensive way biggrin.gif Even more I am actually now looking at A51 instead of "weaker" brother A52. I have discovered that those amps are available on Audiogon for quite a significant discount. I can only hope that such an investment into the amps is of a long-term character. I hope the build quality and parts ensures I will not have to buy another one for a decade smile.gif
