Looking for a movie projector under $800

I am not able to make a decision so I'm looking for some quantitative advice to help me decide, I've just purchased two Optoma GT750E's for my flight simulator and looking for screen material (see my post in the appropriate forum).

I was initially just thinking of replacing my dying tv with a Benq JB2 but still on the fence as you can get some decent "real" projectors for around the same price.

I like the Benq W710ST and it sits around the $600 mark it will be brighter than the JB2 and priced similar. There is also the InFocus IN72 has good reviews and Optoma HD20.

Ofcourse there are endless others I'm trying to stay away from the not so 'historical' brands (ie asus vivitek).

Thank you for your help time and opinions, I literally have no budget for this just accumulating debt for entertainment. The system will be run off of a computer and can be color corrected with Spyder 4 elite I will also have Nthusim to warp and correct the image on my curved screen measuring 72" X 48".

i've been happy with the w710st. we always have it in eco mode, even with a 60 watt cfl behind the pj. i've heard that short throw isn't as sharp as a "normal" throw pj, but i don't have any complaints especially since i have nothing to compair it to. my k330 can't compair to the 710 because the 150" screen just ads a bit awe that can't be matched with the little pj.

Did you look at the dlp Viewsonic pro8200? Currently around $800, but it can sometimes be found for a little less. One poster found one for $575 which is a real good price. http://www.avsforum.com/t/1298652/viewsonic-pro8200-it-exists

Viewsonic is one on my list of won't buy unless for some strange reason it happens to be exactly what I'm looking for and no one else has it for near the price.

I am leaning towards the W710ST; nice thing about the JoyBee is LCD so it will last longer but I'd trade longevity for quality and price is good.

I think I'm going to go with the W710ST Benq is a good brand the price is right. I'm wondering i5 says it's a 720p projector but reading the specs it says it will do 1080i and 1080p also..... so isn't it a 1080p projector then?

The compatibility listings in the specs mean that it will accept 1080i and 1080p inputs from your source, but will convert them and display them at 720p.

Thank you; just ordered the W710ST so we'll see how it is; got a three year replacement warranty including the bulb plus free shipping so I will use the heck out of this thing.
