Theater paint ideas

Thread Starter
I know it's been discussed before but i'd like to start a new thread with my pics. Im getting ready to mount my projector and was gettingan idea on the wall of how big the pic will be.

Of course the tv and everything in te pic wasnt there but there was a major reflection off the walls. Very distracting. What color should i go with?

anything dark and not shinny.

You could keep the walls the way they are and add some draping with black velvet material or acoustically transparent black cloth.

Here is a picture of my last theater. It had three shades of purple and black accents.

Come up with something interesting and don't just paint one color. You are going to show this off with the lights on, so make people WOW over it.

My new theater is in process right now. I'm in the painting phase. It will have three shades of mustard/brown and black accents.

Always use flat paint. Spend the money of the good stuff. Right now I'm using Behr Ultra and I'm getting 1-2 coat covering

The side walls are 3 shades of purple and black (All flat paints).

The screen wall is a false wall about 2.5 feet from the real wall. The false wall hides three speakers and a window.
The black around the screen is speaker cloth.

I'm not convinced about the mustard color where my sconces will be. The seats I'll get and the carpet both have that mustard color in them.

I hope when it's all put together, it looks great.

If your willing to spray the paint, I have heard Martha Stewart's Living silver paint is fantastic. It can't be applied streak free without spraying though.
