Do you still have to plug the rear speakers to the sub with it ?

If you click the link, you'll see that it says that the rear speakers are wireless.

I'm pretty sure, from what I've read since CES, that the rear surrounds are wireless, as is the sub...unlike the Vizio 510, which tethers the surrounds to the wireless sub.

As mentioned in the other thread, Philips is introducing a wireless 5.1 soundbar, but at a higher projected price point.

Gotta watch out with wireless if you have other sources like an Xbox running. My wireless sub woofer interfered with Xbox live. Had trouble with wireless and my Roku as well. Plus, wireless just adds more RF to your surroundings which is not the healthiest thing already. I've reverted to being a wired guy myself as a result. Old can be better sometimes.

Apparently they'll be arriving Late April or early May.

Personally, given that the soundbar is likely to be used mostly with Movies, I'm not concerned about the additional radiation. Wired systems are a lot more complex than an easy to set up Wireless 5.1 Soundbar. They apparently produce low distortion and high ouput.

I'm interested.

The satelitte speakers are wireless to the soundbar but not to the subwoofer.

Vizio also made a webpage fot it, with the mention coming soon : http://store.vizio.com/home-theater-1/s4251wb4.html

I read that document and you're right! It appears to follow the formula of their last 5.1 Soundbar, the 510, which also has the satellites tethered.

I wonder if the larger version uses the same method.

The forthcoming Philips 5.1 soundbar definitely has completely wireless rears. More money, though.

Interestingly, the Phillips uses a wireless technology that is similar but not identical to Bluetooth, and it appears that there will be less possibility of interference than with a Wifi based system.

This Soundbar is now in stock on the Vizio site. I am disappointed to see there is no hdmi arc connection.

You should get the same sound quality using optical.

Also, if anyone is ordering this off Vizio's site, I was able to use coupon code REGVIZIO10 for 10% off the order, which was pretty sweet. Unfortunately, California tax just about brought it back to the full price..

Interesting. I just tried to use that code and it didn't work.
